The Rise of Aliko Dangote Part 12
The real game-changer, however, came in 2003 when Dangote embarked on a bold and ambitious project that would redefine the African cement industry. He initiated the construction of a state-of-the-art cement manufacturing plant in Obajana, Kogi State, Nigeria. The Obajana Cement Plant was an enormous undertaking, requiring extensive capital investment, advanced technology, and sophisticated logistical planning. The scale of this project was unprecedented in Nigeria at the time. However, Dangote was determined to build a facility that would not only meet local demand but also position Nigeria as a key player in the global cement industry.
