There's Variety Down River
Downriver, there are countless eateries of all kinds. You've got various Mediterranean places, Asian cuisines, pizza joints, mom and pop coney islands, Mexican restaurants- you name it, we got it. When there's this much to choose from, it can be a bit daunting to try and figure out where to go, if it'll taste good, if the price is right, and if the environment is hospitable. Let's look at some of my top picks, yeah?

"I Do" Thrift
As a plus size person, who is very particular in what I wear, trying to find clothing in a thrift store is next to impossible. So much so, that I rarely go in them anymore, and usually only will if I’m looking for furniture or something cheap for my home. Because, like many young Americans, I am not far above the poverty line- if I’m even at it. As such, I don’t really have the money to spend on brand new items, or anything at all really.

Visibility- It's Free!
Today, March 31, is International Transgender Day of Visibility. For those who are unaware, someone who is transgender is a person who doesn't identify with the gender that was determined by their genitalia at birth. The term transgender also includes a few different subsections, with various, more specific, identities and labels. For starters, there are those who still consider themselves to be on the gender binary: female to male (FTM), or male to female (MTF) transgender. But, where one can still be on the binary, there are others who don't quite relate. Those who don't fit into this strict rule of binary- male or female- are non-binary. This label is inclusive of every other gender identity, such as genderfluid, genderqueer, bigender, agender/nongender, demiboy/demigirl, etc.

Thank you for Surviving
It wasn't until somewhat recently that I noticed how important a specific person was to me. This person, who certainly presented as a strong woman to most, always seemed pretty weak and useless to me. Looking back on all the years I've known this individual, for the life of me I can't figure out why those thoughts formed, let alone why they stuck so vividly and adamantly in my brain.

I've always been an overly anxious person. So much so that until relatively recently, I haven't been able to ask for any sort of help, or basic needs questions if I felt that I would be a burden in doing so. Or if it were awkward. Or I just... didn't know how to handle the situation.

The Most Important Date of All
I started and ended most dates with a glass of wine. It eased my anxiety, gave me a little confidence boost, and helped me feel more natural, open, and honest. I wasn't holding back out of fear. I was calm, ready, and maybe even a bit bold. Plus, a glass or two of red wine is supposed to be healthy, right? I liked the thought of that.

6 Things Your Pharmacy Team Wishes you Knew
Over the last five years, I have worked in three different retail pharmacy chains and have connections with people in hospital, independent, and other community pharmacies. While there are certainly differences between them all, we all deal with a lot of the same struggles- and it's not always corporate or our bosses. No, more frequently than we’d like to admit, it's the patients. Or, at least their reactions. As much as you get frustrated with us, there are some steps you can take to make your, and our, lives easier when you interact with a pharmacy.
