The end is near As if the beginning ever was All efforts as if the last When survival the only concern Remember the face of a girl
By Ian D5 years ago in Poets
Thing is we keep trying Our whole life we're raging against dying Being in the flow of living just to be A whole world of love and greed
Her eyes large and kind Face so lovely She sees all of me Vulnerable in all her glory Our souls must have met before We are one completely
Back to the beginning As I plan my every misstep Deep down in my own mind As I seek and destroy every smile What consequence is fate
We bury ourselves with life To put out the fire of our soul Relieving us from the burden Of asking questions Finding there are no answers
Then it all stopped I breathed my last breath From meaning came nothing Until all has been and imagined Is there time at all?
Held by rapture Dampened by daily routine Hopeful of connection Run through by love Each to their own As I see beyond the petty
Spend my days pondering impossibilities Refuting my conclusions Twiddle and tease present time with fate Send my notions unto the horizons
Our love ignited Instantly enveloped My entire being Permeated my mind and soul My heart beats with new purpose Syncs with you
