Horror Classics: Dracula's Daughter (1936)
To say that 1931's Dracula was influential would be an understatement of note. There are still films being made about him and bearing his name in their titles. With that in mind, I thought we'd take a look at the first sequel to the 1931 film - Dracula's Daughter.

Crime Chronicles: The Seduction of Mary Robinson
A few weeks ago I re-discovered a book I'd read several years back called The Chronicle of Crime. It's a collection of news stories spanning 193 years from 1800 - 1993. As I opened the book for the first time in years I found a story that I thought would make a great starting point for a new project...I seem to have a lot of projects here on Vocal.

Horror Classics: Dracula (1931)
When it comes to vampires, there are few who are as well-known as Dracula. The king of vampires has been thrilling literary audiences since his creation back in 1897. Film audiences have also seen their share of the Count. With some 200+ films to his name dating back to Nosferatu - 1922's unauthorized adaptation of the novel.

Tomb Raider II: A Great Sequel
A while back I reviewed the original Tomb Raider and I loved it! Now, while it took a while longer, the logical next step was to review the second game in the series - Tomb Raider II: Starring Lara Croft. The reason this review took a bit longer to get to is that I had a few...let's call them missteps, along the way.

Horror Classics: Nosferatu
I've said it before, but I love old horror movies. I cut my proverbial teeth on a lot of the old Hammer films - that's how this series got its start after all. As 2022 nears its end, however, I wanted to add a special title to the series: Nosferatu. Why is Nosferatu special? Well, it's 100 years old!

Horror Classics: The Fearless Vampire Killers
The Fearless Vampire Killers is one of those films that, depending on your point of view, is either a masterpiece or a waste of time. With that in mind, I thought it'd be a good addition to the Horror Classics series - especially considering how serious the previous films were.

5 Underappreciated Western Films II
We're approaching the 20th installment of the Underappreciated Films series and I've got something special planned for that when it happens. For now, though, I wanted to revisit a favorite genre - westerns. With that in mind, saddle up boys and girls; this is going to be quite the ride!

Old School Anime Review - Kekko Kamen
This might be the shortest entry into the Old School Anime Reviews series. Kekko Kamen is a 4 episode OVA series that ran from 1991 to 1992. It's based on the manga of the same name. The manga was written by Go Nagai as a joke and parodies Moonlight Mask (Gekko Kamen), a popular Japanese superhero that was on TV at the time. Nagai put it together as a joke and sent it to his editor thinking they'd have a good laugh and move on.

This is, believe it or not, the 18th entry in the Underappreciated Films series. Wow! That's all I can say; but what can I do for the 18th entry? Well, how about looking at 5 Underappreciated Films from my home country? Here are 5 Underappreciated South African Films.

Tomb Raider I: 25 Years Later
The Tomb Raider franchise celebrated its 25th birthday this year and, as I've taken a liking to older games, I thought I'd take a shot at the classic Tomb Raider games. This idea of playing the original games has given me an interesting idea - one which has been done many times before by others on the internet - a review series on the Tomb Raider games.

Horror Classics: The House on Haunted Hill. Top Story - September 2021.
Welcome back to the Horror Classics series! Last time we discussed Twins of Evil, the third entry in Hammer Studios' Karnstien Trilogy. Now, there are many more Hammer films to discuss but I can't only do those; I have to do other films too. With that in mind, I thought I'd share a personal favorite of mine: House on Haunted Hill.
