Filling the Voids
Filling the voids Penelope had a lot of empty space in her life. She ran her tongue over her empty gums, ok she still had most of her teeth but she had an ugly denture and she’d rather have the gaps, than wrestle with that hideous hunk of plastic. So there was one gap or gaps to be more accurate. She squinted at herself in the bathroom mirror poking her tongue out through the void. She could have taken a little more care of her teeth, that was one empty space she may have have avoided.

Xanthe was not a gardener. That’s not to say that she didn’t appreciate a beautiful garden. It was just someone else’s job to get it looking like a welcoming oasis. She didn’t mind paying for that service, particularly as it was supplied by the pleasing and capable Ben Johnston of Johnston’s Gardening and Landscaping Services.

The Farewell Gathering
“I don’t know why I just don’t listen to that inner voice of mine”, muttered Annie, hopefully quietly enough to not draw attention to herself. She had thought this gathering a terrible idea and it was only a sense of obligation that had her going along. She was pretty certain that no one was paying her any mind or had any idea how she really felt at that moment.
