My First Day of School
I was one of the fortunate ones. I still had my mother, or at least a version of her. She wasn’t the warm, fuzzy funny person I remembered from my Kindergarten days; however, she still looked the same…except the eyes. Her eyes scared me now. They were glassy, vacant, and totally black. But she was still with me at least. Most of the children stood alone, or in small, huddled groups being herded towards the big glass door by their robotic minders.

It only takes a minute…
It only takes a minute I can laugh about it now, but at the time I felt like I’d been punched in the throat. Of course I hadn’t actually been punched in the throat, God forbid. However I’d honestly have preferred a physical blow over the intense hurt and anger I felt. I mean didn’t you see me there? I was waving frantically… I just wanted to say bye. You know how these things go, don’t you? We weren’t likely to stay in touch. So Goodbye REALLY mattered.

The World’s Longest Lockdown is over…!
And I don’t care I realise I’m supposed to jump for joy and yes, I know many are, but I’m not ready for it. Well definitely not ready for parts of it. While I would look forward to eating at a restaurant again or going to the theatre there is no rush. I am definitely not ready to go back to work.
