Apologizing for No Reason: My Learned Habit. Top Story - July 2024.
When I was growing up, I was taught to always say “sorry.” It was considered polite and a way to avoid getting noticed or punished. I did my best to be a good girl and stay out of trouble. “Poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese.” ― G.K. Chesterton, Alarms and Discursions I watched the moon shine brightly this evening through the window of our car. It was day one of two days of travel and the shortest day of the year. ( I wrote this in December 2023). That meant we were traveling mostly at night. The main thing was that we arrived at our first destination and managed to go to sleep, all five of us.
