Tori
“Tori! Victoria!” I screamed, running down the dark, damp hallway. At least two feet of water had flooded in. From where, I didn’t know. Sharp raindrops stabbed at my skin, but in the hallway I knew that was impossible. I couldn’t think about that though. All I could think about was finding Tori. As I ran, I created little images in my mind of Tori; to be sure I could remember what she looked like. To be sure I would recognize her when I saw her. I felt certain she would find Tori behind the door at the end of the hall, if she ever made it there. But thinking like that never helps desperate situations so I replaced the thought with an image of Tori and I standing side by side, but the last time we’d been that close was almost two months ago, before Tori went missing. We look so much alike, Tori and I. I suddenly stopped, frozen.

The A-Frame
I wake up suddenly and in a panic, in the middle of the night. I blink a few times, looking around to realize I’m in the living room. Not of my current apartment, but of the old house I used to live in. Confused, I swing my legs off the couch and stand shakily. There’s a sound coming from down the hall, and the smell of smoke with a sickening undertone I can’t place.

Dear Love,
I really didn’t know what I was walking into that night, as I unlocked my front door and let myself into the apartment. I was so shocked I couldn’t even process what I was seeing at first. Not the specifics. Just the color. The huge red pool soaking into the rug. My great grandmother’s rug, ruined. That’s disappointing, still. I’ll never have another one like it. Well… I can’t have another one like it in here, anyway.

Lovelexic
Tika sighed, staring out the window at the open field beside her office. She was thinking about her daughter who was having some trouble in school. Brielle was infatuated with a boy in her class and insisted he was in love with her every time she spoke to Tika about him. It was easy to tell she was obsessed, but Tika had witnessed their interactions and couldn't say the same for this boy.

The Accident. Top Story - October 2023.
The night was cold and quiet. A gentle breeze carried snowflakes through the air, fluttering and light, a beautiful frozen ballet. The moon shown brightly in the vast cloudless sky surrounded by shimmering stars. The night appeared to be at peace.

Mayville - Part Six
The next morning, May woke to find that Baker had left breakfast on the desk in her room. If she were honest, it unnerved her a bit to know he'd been in her room while she slept. She took a moment to use the bathroom - one of those big ones attached to the room like her parents used to have back home - before checking out her room-service breakfast.

Mayville - Part Four
You see, May's foster father didn't take her in because he wanted to help her. No, he - Baker - was already long corrupted himself. He may very well have been born as such. Baker enjoyed the concept of control and applied it to every relationship in his life.

Mayville - Part Two
May was a beautiful girl once. In a way. At first glace, one might actually consider her unremarkable - plain, even - but the longer you looked at her the more depth you found in her appearance. The more you thought about her, the more depth you felt from her presence.

Mayville - Part 1 (Intro)
A thick fog rolled over the dense wood, twisting in between the trees, as if it were snakes searching for prey. Touching each leaf and stone, discarding droplets of icy cold water on every surface or touched. These veins of cool mist slithered to a clearing, where they wrapped around a small shack.
