Decluttering
Many of us have had the opportunity to declutter now that we have been at home for months on end. We spend time in each room in our homes and can honestly say we can eliminate much of our clutter, or use it for that matter. How many times do we buy something and it just sits there? How many times have you literally gone through expiration dates? Well, let’s take a look at one room at a time.

Math Fun With Games
Playing games is fun! As we know, learning can be more fun using games, especially in Math. Math games are a way to enrich students’ learning of math concepts, as well as to increase speed in computation. Math games can be used in all areas of math teaching. Motivation is when children freely choose to participate and enjoy playing a game that helps them with learning. Games motivate children! This creates a positive attitude which is essential to learning and mastering a subject. Games provide opportunities for students to reduce the fear of failure and error in a carefree and fun environment.

Stromboli
As more and more people like to have parties with continuous appetizers, making Stromboli is always a favorite of mine. I have tried to buy them at a deli in a pinch and I always regret it because I feel as if the ingredients are spared and most of the time, my friends or family will make a note that they prefer mine.

Chili So Soon
So for the past two mornings we wake up to temperatures in the 40s. Can this be possible in the middle of September? Well, after the year we have had, anything is possible. Thankfully, the forecast looks better towards the end of the week and we may even hit 75!

Capri and Anacapri
Capri is located in southeast Italy, slightly south of Naples. Sorrento, the isle of Capri and the Amalfi Coast combined is a spectacular region in Campania and on the Sorrentine Peninsula overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. Breathless views and serene landscapes will take your breath away.

The Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast is a 50-kilometer stretch of coastline along the southern edge of Italy’s Sorrentine Peninsula, in the Campania region. It’s a popular holiday destination, with sheer cliffs and a rugged shoreline which are highlighted with small beaches and pastel-colored fishing villages. The coastal road between the port city of Salerno and clifftop of Sorrento brings you past impressive villas, adjoining vineyards and cliffside lemon groves

Spinach Ravioli Alfredo
Most days I try not to eat carbs so when I do make pasta I like to be creative. This has become one of my favorites with spinach ravioli so I decided to be a little daring. Instead of just ravioli I made it a meal. I made it with fresh spinach sautéed in garlic and oil, added some cooked farfalle and then gave it a splash of Alfredo. Let me tell you step by step if you would like to try this. It took me 30 minutes which means you can have a delicious dinner without spending hours in the kitchen.

The Lure of the Elephant
Many people were raised with elephants in their homes believing that they will bring good luck. There will be arguments about whether the trunk should be up and facing the door or if it should be down and facing into a room. Eastern and Western Hemispheres have different opinions all around.

The "Unimportance" of Grammar
As an educator for over 20 years, the way we teach children to write has changed dramatically. Years ago, grammar was taught faithfully and students were expected to diagram sentences and know and identify the different parts of speech. Essays were written with introductions, a body of about three paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph. Students were prepared to write their research papers, and eventually their college application essays.

Read Together With Your Child
Read with your child. Your child will love it. Show your child that reading is important to you. Make sure your child sees you reading, whether it be a newspaper, magazine, novel or even a comic book it is important that your child know that you enjoy reading. Children will always copy their adult role models.

The Coliseum in Rome
During our visit to Rome, we were privileged to visit the Coliseum. Just standing inside the Coliseum gave me chills as I envisioned being in the movie Gladiator and actually experiencing the history of that era. I could picture Russell Crowe in the center fighting for his privileges and recalling how he depicted life at this time in history. As we know, Hollywood portrays Roman gladiatorial contests as brutal, unruly duels that usually ended when one of the combatants killed the other. But in reality, gladiators didn't always fight to the death.
