A Father’s Shadow and Its Deep Dark Depths
April 10, 1912 It is today that my hand is forced in taking a calculated risk. Father does not understand my neurosis, in fact, he abhors it at best. He claims that mother has coddled me, as I always was a sickly child. He believes that if I had spent more time outdoors in those earlier years that it would have served my health far better. He is as firm and fervent on that today as he was then; hence, his insistence on this venture. Along with his alleged claims of the fresh sea air doing my lungs some good, he also insists that as a young businessman I must learn the value of risk and reward. The potential for building connections and networking on this cruise is of utmost importance. The who’s who of businessmen will be on this ship’s historical maiden voyage. No sane or respectable man should refuse such an opportunity. However, this necessitates I do something I’ve feared for a long time; board a ship. I have done the best I can to mitigate various scenarios and put my mind at ease; despite this, my mind knows no such feeling.

10 No-Fuss Cocktails for St. Patrick's Day . Top Story - March 2022.
Every year for St. Patrick's Day, my husband and I celebrate in a rather heretical fashion: the American way. In Ireland, St. Patrick's Day is not a boozy holiday, but a religious reminder of Saint Patrick and all of his kind deeds. Like most holidays, this Americanized Irish celebration has strayed far from the original intention and meaning, and been replaced with a favored popular pastime; drinking. So, in celebration, I have for you ten of our favorite easy to make cocktails to enjoy at home.

My Top 10 Food Network Crushes
Food Network is hands-down my most watched channel, and for good reason. Food Network hosts and chefs come from diverse backgrounds and have varied personalities. Their charm, wit, humor, and relatability all take center stage. Plus, there is rarely anything sexier than someone who knows how to cook. Granted, a self-proclaimed hobbit is stating this, so please take that into consideration. With that being said, I'd like to introduce you to a romantically charged countdown of my favorite Food Network crushes and a long list of reasons why they're worth falling in love with-just in time for Valentine's Day.

Werewolf ISO Hunter
I'll be honest: I have a type. Most "people" do, but here at the Paranormal Dating Services Inc. (PDSI) my taste in partners is a little...frowned upon. Still, they make some exceptions for people like me. Thankfully or maybe regrettably, I also have my friend Daeva looking out for me. She helps me steer clear of potential dangers I should be concerned about, but am not. She knows what to expect from me by now, but that doesn't mean it annoys her any less. So, how did a class act like me wind up signing up for a dating service? Well, my taste in men definitely had something to do with it. The other reason is Daeva.

The Only Time I Felt Cool in High School
Some songs take you down life's journey of seemingly insignificant moments and memories that grow all the more special and significant as time goes on. I often attribute songs to individual people who have influenced my life or exposed me to those specific creative tracks in the first place. Occasionally the same song can serve two roles; one role for an individual person and another to represent a period of time in my life. I'll never forget one such special timeframe, and the individual who made it matter.

Viking Warrior Princess
When we rolled up to look at a property six years ago, we weren't planning on gaining two new members of our family. The plan was to adopt a dog or two after purchasing a home and establishing ourselves a bit more. We were considering adopting from the local Humane Society when we were ready. Instead, this dog-lover (me) stuck her foot in her mouth when the realtor noted our interest in the home and property, and informed us that the previous owners were looking to rehome their two dogs upon moving. After viewing other properties, my husband and I placed an offer for that home the same day. During negotiations, one questioned remained; are we willing to take the dogs? After my husband shot a glare at me, he stubbornly stated "Yes, we were serious about the dogs." That is the short story of how we became proud dog parents of Remington and her step-brother Gus. While we still have and love Gus, this story is about Remington and how she earned her title of "Viking Warrior Princess."
