Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures
Today's realities are filled with desperate times. Desperate times for millions the world over. For they are the ones who can't escape the oppressive realities of their existence. Their meager means have afforded them no luxuries or respite from the daily struggle to survive has only continued. The taskmasters of societies are continually subjugating more into a realm of reality far removed from their hopes and dreams. Their weathered faces, tattered clothes, and sunken eyes are all too familiar images that are splashed across TV screens are sights that show just how exposed our failures are in bringing any kind of balance into our society.

Broken Promises
At a time of great distress all across the country our political leadership has once again failed to deliver on promises that would up lift millions of Americans out of the desperate times they face. The economic and financial relief that was the keynote of their campaigns especially in the Georgia runoff, a promise and commitment to immediately expedite financial aid to millions of Americans who face unprecedented economic and financial hardships is once again proof that our political system is corrupt. Corrupt in every sense of the word. Our politicians are bought and paid for by corporate interests and they are the ones who control the purse strings.

In the years following the Great Society pushed through by LBJ no longer is there a common denominator that bridges the ever widening crevasses that keep pulling this nation apart. The storm clouds of open rebellion have already been formed. Formed not only by governmental policies that have totally disregarded the welfare of the majority of citizens but from the previous four years of an incompetent Administration. Now, the United States is faced with the tempests of open rebellion.

The Last Musketeer
Through-out the course of history there have been those events orchestrated by man that defined a generation. So it was that in the 18th century saw a generation on two continents become embroiled in revolution. These separate revolutions were the two most singular events during the latter half of the 1700's. A period which altered the course of history. The world in 1781 marked the end of the American Revolution which gave birth to what was to become that great noble experiment of Democracy. But, across the Atlantic seeds of another rebellion were already being sewed. A way of life for the Monarchy and the French Nobility was about to come to a violent tragic end.

In today's high tech world the prospect of living longer is all but assured by the marvels of modern medicine. But, with the advances in medical technology and updated vaccines has always come with purse strings. Through-out history it has always been the more affluent that are the first ones and in many cases are the only ones to be the beneficiaries of medicine and medical procedures. In too many instances people have died just because of the affordability factor. Case in point: When the AIDS vaccine was first introduced to increase the life expectancy of those infected was available to only those who could afford it. Consequently, more people even to this day succumb to this deadly disease.

Biden's Economic Balancing Act
When President-Elect Biden proposed his latest economic recovery plan the intentions of which are sound but, therein lies potential setbacks to authentic economic stabilization of our economy. We have to point out that any increase in basic wages my sound like a dream come true for millions but, conversely consumer goods have always risen proportionally to any increase in incomes. A case in point : When the Alaska pipe line was being constructed wages for the average construction worker was around $80,000 per year. What was not readily explained was the fact that rent, food, even gas for commuting correspondingly rose as well. The bottom line is the fact that these construction workers barely had enough disposable income to really have any net gain in their financial situation.

We have witnessed the reshaping of history this past month. It is the reshaping of history that always starts out with a vengeance. And, so it was. The ever encroaching Father Time who waits for no man, who day after day, night after night has relentlessly and unapologetically turned the pages of the history of man. The struggle for decency has resurfaced in this the 21st century. For far too long the United States has relinquished it's role as the beacon of hope and opportunity. The dark clouds of the past four years has only exasperated the growing struggles for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
