“My grandma shot me,” the voice on the other end of the 911 call said. “I’m going to die. Help me!” The voice was that of 17-year-old Jonathan Hoffman, a Michigan teen who lay dying on the floor of his grandmother’s condo in 2012 after the 75-year-old woman shot him six times.

The Little Machete Murders
(Please note: I cannot find photos of the fifth suspect. In photo: Colon, Strickland, Lucas, Arbelo) Five students attending a Job Corps program lured another teen, 17-year-old Jose Arnaya Guardado, to a wooded area where they'd dug a grave and hid a machete. The five teens attacked Jose, who desperately fought for his life. The teens kicked and punched Jose repeatedly, then began smashing him in the face with the machete until it caved in. Jose was thrown into the grave and buried alive. Jose's brother found him deceased several days later. His face was so badly disfigured, Jose's brother barely recognized him.

The Story Behind the 1942 Genesee Hotel Suicide
Before the Internet, only selected individuals had access to historical documents and so, most people carried little to no information about important events and tragedies, such as this 1942 photograph. Now that everyone and their pet surfs the web, the photograph is widely shared across Facebook and other social platforms and blogs, incorrectly captioned, "The Despondent Divorcee." Many people see the photo as it makes round across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other platforms, yet, the backstory behind the photo rarely is heard.

Mom Marries Son's Killer Six Days After His Murder
I cannot say what I really think about this woman. No love in this world would allow me to stand by someone suspected in my child’s death, much less put a ring on my finger and carry their name. In fact, I would likely lose my mind and soon become Inmate #1234567 myself, smiling in my mugshot holding a “Yeah, I did it” sign.
