Leave The Little Door Be. Top Story - October 2024.
There was only one rule: don’t open the door. It wasn’t a door she would need to open; had she not been told to leave it be, she might never have fiddled with the knob. But as it stood, there was something gnawing away at her about the little wooden door to the immaculately crafted dollhouse that she had been tasked to tending. It wasn’t just the dollhouse under her charge, it was the whole of the nearly forgotten manor, but extra care had been instructed to the dollhouse.

I have fallen completely in love with you; with your smile, with your voice, with your laugh, with the way you walk and the way you bring the sun into each room. Each morning my mind traces through every dream you walked through. Each night I lay in my chilled bed and think of how whole I would feel should you find slumber beside me. Every fiber of my body yearns to learn what your soft hands would feel like when those fingers finally brush against my flesh, and how your lips must feel like an angel’s wing.

She was out there in the water. Every rational spark in his brain reminded him that there was nothing out there in the sea, yet the chill in his spine remained. They Removed The Body
It’s been thunderstorm after thunderstorm for the last two weeks. Nearly every morning starts with a torrent of rain turning the streets to rivers, and each night is lulled away by the pounding of water against the slated roof top. They say April showers bring May flowers, but at this point April showers were drowning any flowers before they even had the chance to try and grow. My muddy garden had become the least of my problems where the gallons of rain was concerned.

Mother
There was a peace behind those eyes that she envied. A blankness that spoke of complete unawareness of the happenings around. Those black orbs trailed over the forestry, as the beast chewed through a mouth of brown stained grass. Off in the distance, a siren was giving a low whine of warning, but it was given no mind. It was just her out her. Her and the deer as she drew back the bow, and leveled her gaze.
