Conference Championship Recap: Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda
There's always something about Conference Championship Sunday. The main thing is that it's the final round before the overall finale, and one thing is true: the semifinals in any league are always very captivating, whether it's the NFL's Conference Championships, the Conference Finals in the NBA and NHL, or the League Championship Series in MLB. Regarding this year, the four teams remaining in this year's playoffs are looking to win their way to Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII.

The History of the Smythe Division
Each of the four classic divisions had a special attribute. The Adams Division had an even mix of Original Six and WHA flavor, plus there was the fact that none of the teams involved liked the Bruins. The Patrick Division struck a huge blow for pro sports in the Mid-Atlantic region. The Norris Division was quite the classic division, mainly because three of the teams were in the Original Six. All three divisions had their special features and their stories to tell.

Reviewing the Seventh Annual Women's Royal Rumble
I absolutely, positively love the Royal Rumble! It's my all time favorite event in WWE. The easy answer to give when asked about one's favorite WWE event is definitely WrestleMania, but for me, it's the Rumble. The reason is because of the Rumble match. It matches the NHL's Stanley Cup Playoffs when it comes to chaos; so much happens in that match that impresses and shocks fans. I still remember really wanting the women to have that same chaos of their own, and in 2018, it finally happened.

A Deep Look into "Desperate Housewives"
A few hours before starting this story, I watched the final episode of Desperate Housewives. It's a show I've been bingewatching for a few months recently. I honestly never thought I'd watch a second of the show, let alone eight seasons' worth in a few months' time, but here I am. To further detail this, I have to go back two decades.

Avalanche Game 49 Recap: Preparing for the Break
The Colorado Avalanche were coming off a very big win against the Washington Capitals, where Nathan MacKinnon, well, did it again. Another four-goal game for the man leading the way in the Hart Trophy race, and five points over all in the Avs' 6-2 win. MacKinnon left that night as the points leader, but entering this night, he was behind Nikita Kucherov by one point. Seriously, this will be one hell of a race.

Avalanche Game 48 Recap: The Natural
It's been 11 seasons, and I still can't believe we have such a superstar in Nathan MacKinnon. I remember the tail end of that shortened 2012-2013 season, and Avs fans were talking about the draft. Who would we get? Seth Jones was talked about a lot, but then this Nathan MacKinnon kid became the hot topic. So that was the name we decided to go with. We drafted MacKinnon, and he had quite the rookie year. Got his first taste of the playoffs, had 10 points. Eight of them were assists, three of them were in Game One. Back then, I thought, "We have ourselves a good one here."

Dear Diary
Dear Diary. Those are the words on my cover. I am in the hands of a young woman named Shannon Kemp, though I am not hers. I didn't end up in Shannon's hands accidentally. I was taken. Well, I don't want to say taken; it makes it sound like I was kidnapped. Kidnapping has sinister undertones. There was nothing sinister about Shannon's acquisition.

Villainess Review: Anita (Once Upon a Time)
How I loved Once Upon a Time! This was a Sunday habit for me; though it wasn't easy. After all, the show conflicted with The Simpsons on Fox, so I often had to watch episodes on demand. Even so, I was all in. A series that took the world of fairy tales to immense levels, and it was absolutely amazing. The show lasted seven seasons on ABC, with the core cast including Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin, and of course, Lana Parrilla as Regina Mills (aka the Evil Queen).

Divisional Playoff Recap: No More Excuses
Well, Buffalo Bills and fans, you're out of the playoffs, you're out of luck, and most of all, you're out of excuses. This was the Bills' best chance to finally exorcise the demon known as the Kansas City Chiefs. We know the history. They faced each other twice in the playoffs before. The first time was the 2020 AFC Championship, which KC won. At that time, the Bills were getting their feet wet as a perennial AFC superpower. The following year was a different story. 2021 AFC Divisional Playoff; high scoring battle, Gabe Davis scored four touchdowns in that single game--or as I love to call it, an Al Bundy. Here's the thing: Al Bundy's team didn't allow the opponent to tie the game in the final 13 seconds of regulation. Of course, overtime saw KC win the toss and go all the way, prompting a lot of crying from Bills fans about the OT rules, leading to the NFL changing them again. Last year, the Bills didn't even get to KC, because they lost at home in the same round, this time against the Bengals. Ouch.

A Winter Burial
Marlowe Bender always received the task of shoveling snow near their home, and it was usually done with a smile on her face, though the last part was always according to her husband, James Bender. In actuality, this was James' task, but Marlowe couldn't remember the last time James actually did the task--or any actual work.

Avalanche Game 47 Recap: Top Nate Dogg
Saturday saw the Colorado Avalanche's five game road trip come to an end. What a trip, though. Game 1 was the comeback win in Toronto. Game 2 was the heartbreaking loss in Montreal. Game 3 featured another comeback in in Ottawa, and Game 4 was a tough loss in Boston. The fifth and final game of this road trip sees the Avs in Philadelphia against a Flyers team who appears to be playoff bound.

The Sad Golden Rule in the NFL: Only White Coaches are Allowed to Have Mulligans
I've said this for a good bit, and it's about time I call it out. Now, let me make one thing clear. Yes, I (and everyone else) heard the news that the Dallas Cowboys will keep Mike McCarthy for another year. However, he is not part of this problem. For better or worse, McCarthy does have a strong and accomplished record, and he has won a Super Bowl. Yes, most of that was thanks to Aaron Rodgers, but the record's there, mistakes or not.
