Villainess Review: Lydia and Natalie (Blue Bloods)
The Blue Bloods episode, "Another Look," sees Danny Reagan and Maria Baez investigating a case of sexual assault, as a young woman--Natalie--was accusing a married man by the name of Mark Forman of assaulting her at a bar. According to Natalie, she and Mark met at a bar and had drinks with him, but afterwards, Mark invited Natalie to his room, and became violent with her when she refused. Both detectives visited the Forman household and spoke to Mark's wife, Lydia, about the charges against her husband, with Lydia appearing to be concerned and shocked regarding Mark. As for Mark, he stated that he only talked to Natalie and added that it was nice to experience a friendly conversation with a woman, as he never got that with Lydia. According to Mark, Lydia only spoke to Mark with venom in her voice.

Villainess Review: Janice Roseland (Memories of a Murder)
This weekend, Lifetime gave us Memories of a Murder (originally titled, Souvenirs), which centered on a young woman named Gail, who was running a murder memorabilia shop. The shop served as a target of ridicule and vandalism from a group of teens led by Tori Kelly, and it was after eggs were thrown that Gail was visited by Janice Roseland, a detective who spoke to Gail about the vandalism and her shop. The film's progression sees Gail on the receiving end of calls from a mysterious killer, who had been taunting Gail and ordering her to sell some of the items from the shop. The caller also claimed that Gail's father was a killer himself, and that he created both of them.

Battle of Florida in the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs
On Friday, the Tampa Bay Lightning lost to the Dallas Stars by a score of 5-2, which gave the Central Division title to the Carolina Hurricanes. Why is that important? Because Carolina clinching first place officially locks in the first Stanley Cup Playoff series of this season, and for the first time ever, the Tampa Bay Lightning will face off against the Florida Panthers in a best-of-seven playoff series. These two teams have co-existed together for 28 years; the Lightning debuted in 1992, while the Panthers joined the league a year later in 1993. Though even then, the Lightning had a leg up on their in-state rivals, as their debut was the big story of the 1992-93 season, while the Panthers were pretty much overshadowed in the 1993-94 season, by the relocation of the Minnesota North Stars to Dallas, and the debut of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

30 Years: A Look at the San Jose Sharks
The San Jose Sharks have always fascinated me as a hockey fan. They debuted in the NHL in 1991, becoming Northern California's second and most successful attempt at an NHL franchise, after the failure of the Oakland Seals/California Golden Seals. This season, the Sharks are currently celebrating 30 years as a franchise, but this is actually their 29th season of play--their 30th playing season will occur next year. This team has been good for their entire existence, but can't seem to go far. Here's a look at their complete history.

Villainess Review: Cali (Walker)
The CW's Walker series (a reboot of CBS' Walker, Texas Ranger) sees Cordell Walker returning to duty a year after the murder of his wife, Emily Walker--a crime that hadn't been solved until the series' ninth episode, "Rule Number 17." Even prior to the episode, there was an assumed culprit in the form of Carlos Mendoza, but he was cleared and released. Episodes earlier, Geri Broussard, Emily's best friend and the owner of a bar known as The Side Step, was a suspect--and that actually increased in the episode.

Villainess Review: Sarah Elsworth (Killer Competition)
On November 1, 2020, Lifetime gave us Killer Competition (aka Top of the Class), which centered on main protagonist Nicole Ward and her plans to become valedictorian and attend her dream college, Westbridge. However, she had an academic rival of sorts in the form of Victor Miller, who was the ex-boyfriend of Nicole's best friend, Sarah Elsworth, and had the same exact goals as Nicole. Sarah decided to convince Nicole to switch Victor's essay with a forgery to increase Nicole's chances, and as a result, Victor received a failing grade.

Villainess Review: Nicole Morris (Castle)
"Castle, P.I," a seventh season episode of Castle, kicks off with a woman named Shana Baker entering her apartment, only to find herself on the bad end of a gun held by an invasive assassin, who shoots Shana to death. The murder is investigated by Kate Beckett, Javier Esposito, and Kevin Ryan, but in a surprise, Richard Castle enters and reveals that a) he received his PI license, and b) he's also on his own investigation into Shana's murder. The dueling investigations see Castle a step or two ahead of Beckett and the NYPD in a number of forms, including Castle uncovering Shana's occupation as a teacher at a prestigious preschool, as well as interviewing a person close to Shana, her friend Nicole Morris.

Villainess Review: Lucy Ryan (Psych)
I enjoyed watching Psych for all eight seasons, especially Season Four, which had some very amazing and interesting episodes. The season's fourth episode, "The Devil's in the Details...and the Upstairs Bedroom," was one that stood out with me, as the episode's victim was a Catholic college student named Agatha Brontus, who suddenly jumped off the roof and fell to her death. Shawn and Gus' investigation saw them reunited with their former teacher, Father Peter Westley, who voiced his belief that Agatha was possessed by the Devil. Agatha's death was witnessed by her friend, Lucy Ryan, whose home was visited by Shawn and Gus, as they looked to get answers from her.

East Division Playoff Field Complete With Bruins Playoff Clinch
On Monday, the Boston Bruins defeated the New Jersey Devils, 3-0, to lock up the last remaining playoff spot in the NHL's makeshift East Division. For the Bruins, this is their fifth straight postseason, and they are two years removed from falling one win short of winning the Stanley Cup, while also coming off capturing the Presidents' Trophy last season. The playoff clinch comes mainly due to the efforts of the famed "Perfection Line," consisting of Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak, and Patrice Bergeron; however, they have finally managed to get production from other lines, mainly thanks to acquiring Taylor Hall at the trade deadline this season. Vezina winning goalie Tuukka Rask has also played a role, though with his long injury hiatus, backups Jaroslav Halak and Jeremy Swayman have picked up the slack and racked up the key saves needed to keep Boston in the thick of things.

Villainess Review: Sofia Elias (Killer Daddy Issues)
Last February, Lifetime gave us Killer Daddy Issues (also known as Overlook), which centered on the wealthy Douglass family--mainly Carrie Douglass (played by Jillian Murray in her only heroic Lifetime film role to date). Her close friend in the Douglass house is Sofia Elias, who is the daughter of housekeeper Maria Elias, though as the film progresses, things between Maria and Sofia suddenly become chilly. This comes after Carrie learned about her widowed mother, Grace, suddenly becoming married to Reed Hayden--a younger man, as well as Grace suddenly falling from her horse and being placed in a coma.

Is the Presidents' Trophy Cursed?
In any of North America's four major pro sports leagues, having the best record has its benefits. In the NFL, it means home-field advantage up to that team's Conference Championship (as the Super Bowl is usually played on neutral sites), while in MLB, the NBA, and the NHL, it often means home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. In the NFL, the NBA, and MLB, having the best record usually equates a championship. In the NHL? Not so much. The National Hockey League is the only one of these leagues that awards an actual trophy for finishing with the league's best record: the Presidents' Trophy. The Presidents' Trophy was first awarded in the 1985-86 season, with the Edmonton Oilers being the very first winners, as they racked up 119 points. However, the Presidents' Trophy has hardly ever led to a Stanley Cup for the teams that won it, and the overall history of Trophy winners failing to win the Cup (including in the last decade) have led fans and analysts to wonder if the Trophy is actually cursed.
