Villainess Review: Olivia McLeland (All Rise)
First off, I want to say that I am still upset over CBS cancelling All Rise after just two seasons. This was a very good and gripping show that featured an amazing cast and touched on various issues that are hitting society right now. I loved watching this show, but sadly, the show is no more. The show did deliver a bit when it came to villainesses, and the best one, IMO, was featured in the episode "Fool for Liv."

What Went Wrong: Oilers Swept Out of Playoffs by Jets
On Monday, three teams faced elimination from this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs, but the proverbial axe only fell on the Edmonton Oilers, as they lost a triple overtime thriller by a score of 4-3 to the Winnipeg Jets. Kyle Connor's goal in the seventh minute of the sixth period completed a four-game sweep for the Jets--the first in franchise history--while bring an end to the Oilers' season. So to recap, Kyle Connor advanced, Connor Hellebuyck advance, but the biggest Connor in this series--McDavid--didn't.

Villainess Review: Leslie Williams (Columbo)
Before the actual Columbo series began in 1971, two pilot episodes aired: "Prescription: Murder" and "Ransom for a Dead Man." The first of the two featured a villainous female accomplice, but it was "Ransom for a Dead Man" (which aired on March 1, 1971) that featured the series' very first female killer, in the form of Leslie Williams.

What Went Wrong: Blues Swept Out of Stanley Cup Playoffs
On Sunday, the St. Louis Blues lost Game Four of their West Division Semifinal series against the Colorado Avalanche, becoming the first team to be eliminated from the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs. This first round exit continues a downward spiral for the Blues, which began with last year's disappointing playoff performance in the Edmonton bubble. That year, the Blues lost every game in the Round Robin, finishing with the #4 seed, and later losing in six games to the Vancouver Canucks in the Western Conference Quarterfinals.

What Went Wrong: Capitals Eliminated in Five Games by Bruins
On Sunday, the Washington Capitals lost Game Five of their East Division Semifinal series against the Boston Bruins, doing so by a score of 3-1. The loss gave the Capitals their third straight first round exit since winning the Stanley Cup in 2018, following a seven-game loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in 2019, and a five-game loss to the New York Islanders in 2020.

Villainess Review: Meredith Preminger (Monk)
The episode, "Mr. Monk and the Girl Who Cried Wolf," was an interesting one for Sharona Fleming, as it started with Sharona seeing a murdered man in a parking garage. Sharona's hectic day included finding objects in her home in strange places, as well as being informed by her creative writing teacher, Meredith Preminger, that she didn't turn in her story; despite Sharona swearing that she did so just a few days ago. Sharona's fear that she was losing her mind actually led her to a session with Adrian Monk's therapist, Dr. Charles Kroger, which saw Sharona voice her fear that her time with Monk and his phobias have resulted in her mind possibly unraveling.

Villainess Review: Brooke and Elaina Cooper (Tracking a Killer)
This weekend's wave of Lifetime movies began with the anticipated Tracking a Killer (originally known as Fatal Frenemies), which centers on Haley Longford and her quest to show out in her school's track meet. Her teammates consists of friends Abby Harris and Elaina Cooper, though their race ends in a heated confrontation between Abby and Haley, with the latter being revealed as having issues with anger. Later in the film, Abby is found dead inside the girls' locker room; a shocking death which has been later ruled as a homicide.

Is Jordynne Grace Turning Heel?
Is Jordynne Grace on the verge of a heel turn? The signs, IMO, are there. I've wanted a heel turn for Jordynne for a number of months now. I think she can really excel as a villainess in Impact, especially with her physique, which would allow her to play the villainous powerhouse role. Jordynne has been wrestling for a decade, but she joined Impact Wrestling back in 2018. It was in February of 2020 that Jordynne captured the Knockouts Championship from Taya Valkyrie, ending Valkyrie's record 377-day reign, and held the title for 182 days before losing to Deonna Purrazzo at Slammiversary.

Villainess Review: Miranda Hurst (Motive)
A show that I really enjoyed binge-watching was the Canadian crime drama, Motive, which was a rarity in the world of procedural crime dramas, as it was shown in the "howcatchem" format. As you know, the howcatchem, or "whydunit," is the opposite of the standard whodunit; in a whodunit, the viewer (or reader when it comes to literature) has to figure out the identity of the killer along with the characters involved, and that person isn't revealed until the end. In a howcatchem, however, the killer is shown committing the murder in an early scene, with that person's identity already exposed, and the viewer/reader follows the protagonist's pursuit of said killer.

Villainess Review: Mandy (Saving My Daughter)
Normally, in my villainess reviews, I usually detail the events of the film or television program that eventually lead to the villainess being unveiled on screen. However, I'm going to do something different here because my usual approach is similar to a movie review as well, and there's already a review of this movie up on Vocal written by someone who I consider as the "Wayne Gretzky of movie reviews" (it's Stanley Cup Playoff time, hence the Great One reference). So with that, I'll just cut to the chase and state that this story and review is about Mandy, the main villainess of 2021's Saving My Daughter.

Villainess Review: Adele Bensimon (Bull)
CBS' hit series, Bull, recently celebrated 100 episodes and later ended its fifth season, with a sixth on the way. It's an amazing show; I binge-watched a few years ago and now I watch live on Monday nights. It was on September 20, 2016 that this show began its run with the episode, "The Necklace."

A Look at the Atlanta Braves' Division Title Streak
One of the most memorable streaks in sports history (especially in my lifetime) was the Atlanta Braves' 14 straight division championships, finishing first from 1991 until 2005. Since then, the Braves' postseasons have been scarce, but once upon a time, they were one of the constants throughout the 1990s. Here's an at-a-glance look at the Braves' streak.
