Is Jordynne Grace Turning Heel?
Jordynne Grace's demeanor on Thursday's edition of Impact Wrestling could be the beginning of a long overdue heel turn for the former two-time champion.

Is Jordynne Grace on the verge of a heel turn? The signs, IMO, are there. I've wanted a heel turn for Jordynne for a number of months now. I think she can really excel as a villainess in Impact, especially with her physique, which would allow her to play the villainous powerhouse role. Jordynne has been wrestling for a decade, but she joined Impact Wrestling back in 2018. It was in February of 2020 that Jordynne captured the Knockouts Championship from Taya Valkyrie, ending Valkyrie's record 377-day reign, and held the title for 182 days before losing to Deonna Purrazzo at Slammiversary.
The tail end of that year saw Jordynne begin an alliance with Jazz, who was closing in on retirement. They paired up in the Knockouts Tag Team Championship tournament, but lost in the 2nd round, and later faced each other in singles action, with Jordynne winning. I honestly think that Jordynne's heel turn should have happened with Jazz involved, because it would have been perfect to see Jazz being used as a vehicle for Jordynne's villainous quest to make a further name for herself, but Impact never really banked on that.
The alliance ended when Jazz lost a Title vs Career match against Deonna, but she brought in Rachael Ellering as Jordynne's partner for the tag title contest against Fire n Flava (Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz). It was at Rebellion that Rachael and Jordynne won the titles, and in the weeks leading to the rematch, we would see Fire n Flava plant seeds of separation, claiming that Rachael had all of the talent while Jordynne was riding her coattails. The rematch saw Fire n Flava regain the titles at Under Siege, which brings us to this past Thursday's Impact. Rachael stated that she was focused on regaining the tag titles, while Jordynne went to the office of Scott D'Amore to discuss a possible match. Sure enough, Jordynne's request was granted, but Rachael was shocked to learn that their match...was against each other.
So the one-on-one contest commenced; we saw the show of respect twice, though Jordynne was definitely bent on winning against her recent partner. Despite her efforts, Jordynne came up short, and while she gave another show of sportsmanship to Rachael, the frustration was there. I think the seeds are planted, it'll be a long tease, but Jordynne's definitely turning heel. Jordynne signed a long-term deal recently, though I thought it would result in a longer tag title reign. Since it didn't, Plan B has to be making Jordynne a villainess instead, and who knows, maybe it comes during a title rematch, which ends with the evil Jordynne attacking Rachael. If Jordynne turns heel, I expect her to regain that Knockouts Championship, with her villainous reign possibly seeing her feud with either Rachael Ellering or Taylor Wilde. The possibilities are many.
The coming weeks will be interesting, and if I had to guess, the next one or two Impacts will definitely tell if my gut instinct is right and they are turning Jordynne heel. Jordynne has been a heel before in the independent circuit, she worked as a villainess at Women Superstars Uncensored years ago. She started out as a face at Shine Wrestling, but turned heel on LuFisto to start a feud, and hasn't been villainous since then. As I've said before, Jordynne is long overdue for a run as a heel; she has the look and she has the attitude. It's up to Impact to make that decision and get it done.
