I have roamed the market places, in the crowded streets of Tangier, immersed in the scent of spices being carried through the hot and dusty air. I have dipped my feet in the same Spanish waters where the Armada sailed from and met the spectre of myself on the other side of the Atlantic. I have danced in the snow of Germany and sipped wine in France. I have seen the Yankees play at Yankee Stadium and touched the stone edifice of President Lincoln. I found peace in Malta, swimming through the crystal clear waters of the Blue Lagoon and walking in the ghostly footsteps of the seekers of the Grail. I've seen the halls where Anne Boleyn fell in love with King Henry and I had my first history lesson on the battlements of Gibraltar.

Osteogenesis Imperfecta
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) or as it is more commonly known, brittle bones disease is a rare genetic disorder that people are born with. That I was born with. There is no known cure and individuals do not develop it like with osteoporosis.

A Picture's Worth 1000 Words
My first tattoo, it's fair to say, was a mistake of epic proportions. I fell into the same trap as many before me and saw my wrist encumbered with the name of a lover, whose enchantment was already beginning to break.

Economic Unity
On the third May 1921 under the Government of Ireland Act (1920) Ireland was separated by law into two distinct jurisdictions. This was the partition of Ireland or críochdheighilt na hÉireann in Gaelic. From that day forward there was the Republic of Ireland or more commonly known as Southern Ireland which is made up of twenty six counties, and Northern Ireland which is made up of a more modest six counties.

In Sickness and In Health
When my children hurt themselves, they come to me, point to the affected area and present themselves for their magic Mother's kiss which I willingly give. I kiss them sweetly and suddenly, they are better, returning to play and jovial mood. I kiss them better and it is as if it never happened. That is the beauty of youth, so a little a thing can turn their tears into laughter.

The Witch and The Man
It began with the face in the wardrobe. It is the first clear encounter that I can recall. Having never been particularly fond of the dark as a child as with most children, I often found my way into my mother's bed if I awoke in the middle of the night. On that night, as I curled around my mother, my eyes turned to the wardrobe in the far corner of the room and there it was. A face shrouded in all the darkness of the night watching my mother. I lay motionless, my breathing coming faster with every exhale. It did not notice at first that I could see it, it merely stared through black holes that eyes had once occupied. The air in the room turned to ice and its eyes moved to mine. There was a moment’s hesitation and then it looked at me. The smile that came over its face was slow and horrifying. For whatever reason, the smile broke through my stillness and as those black holes followed me, I lay down gently afraid that too rapid a movement would bring more than just a face. I rolled away and faced the wall. For some time, I could feel it there, still grinning like some demented Cheshire Cat and it seemed it was trying to speak with me. My brain tingled with half formed words that were not my own. Eventually, my childish fear put me to sleep.

The Other Woman
1 Did you ever love me? Does it even matter anymore? We created a kind of chaos and while I’ve waded through the wreckage to try and find a way through for the child we made, you’ve stayed behind to try and piece back together a life we destroyed.

Lubed Up and Fully Loaded Hazelnut Brownies
It all started with John Barrowman aka Big Hair Boy, and his lockdown videos that kept his fans sane during the seemingly endless months of nothingness. One morning I awoke to the video that would begin my own food challenge. John aka Captain Jack, had created a tutorial for three ingredient Brownies and it seemed so simple I decided that I would give it a go. They were delicious but I became convinced that I could make them better, stronger and ever more chocolatey. For months, I have slaved over the great Brownie conundrum. I have made so many different versions of these Brownies. Some had marshmallows (which while tasty made the texture so wrong) , some were cooked at 200C for 20 minutes others at 160C for an hour. Gradually I made the recipe my own until finally, I bit into that first perfect batch.
