Giving birth is a monumental endeavor, and one that’s not easily forgotten for a multitude of reasons. So is also the case with the circumstances and people that surround us during that pivotal part of our lives. Memories are made and shared and live long after those moments have dissipated into the spectrum of time.

Shattered . Content Warning.
The room was dimly lit, befitting the seriousness of the situation at hand. Isabelle lay on the bed, her arm stretched across her eyes in an attempt to shield herself from the brutal force of reality. It was deathly silent except for the sound of her own heartbeat reverberating like thunder in her ears. Occasionally, a muffled sob issued forth, its owner attempting, albeit unsuccessfully, to submerge the array of emotions embodied in his cloaked cry.

Blame is such a serious accusation. In a court of law, it requires evidence when seeking an indictment or conviction. It can be cruel, relentless, and can even precipitate wars. Blame is often misplaced and sometimes displaced in a thinly veiled, manipulative way. I think that for us, it was a great deal of all these things - and more - blended into one colossal, combustible bomb.
