Pete Davidson Shows on 'SNL' After Alarming Instagram Post
It's been years since I watched Saturday Night Live, and until I found out that Pete Davidson was dating Ariana Grande, I had no idea who he was. I did, however, like him on sight. In spite of the crazy bleached blond hair, he looked very much like the boy next door. He seemed like the kind of kid you'd go to high school with; his goofy grin and his friendly gaze just was so appealing, and much as I'm not Ariana Grande's hugest fan, there was something that seemed instantly likable about him.

Trump and the Apostles' Creed: Should He or Shouldn't He?
Much has been made in recent days of President Trump not having recited the Apostles' Creed during former President George H.W. Bush's funeral on December 5. Comments have ranged from questions regarding Trump's literacy to criticism that he is perhaps not "Christian enough" to warrant the support he does have from evangelical Christians.

#RIPDynamiteKid: Another Wrestling Great Gone
Watching wrestling with my dad is probably one of my earliest memories with him, and one of the happiest. He was always so active when he watched wrestling. If there was a particularly brutal move, he'd be out of his seat, moving his arms this way and that as though he was trying to help whatever wrestler that was currently in the bout win. I was fascinated by what he was doing, and I remember being fascinated by the electricity being generated on screen.

'Ralph Breaks The Internet'—and a Big Stereotype (Spoilers!)
As the parent of two girls—and a fairly non-stereotypical woman myself—I have in many ways been troubled by the portrayal of many animated women over the years. In writing this, I know how ridiculous that sounds; of all the things there are to worry about in this world, I'm bothered by the portrayal of women who aren't even flesh and blood.

'Baby It's Cold Outside' Becomes Hot Topic in #MeToo Era
"Baby It's Cold Outside" has, thanks to #Glee (and #ErinDavis and #MikeCooper from 98.1 #CHFI in #Toronto), become one of my favorite #Christmas songs of all time. Before I talk about the lyrics, I just have to say that #ChrisColfer and #DarrenCriss looked like they were having a terrific time singing what had been until that point a duet between a man and a woman, and when I heard Davis and Cooper's version on CHFI, it struck me that these two cohosts and friends were having a ball singing it.

Dear Donald Trump: Migrants with Children Aren't 'Stone Cold Criminals'
When you're a parent, you want what's best for your family. If there's a better opportunity elsewhere for you and your family to thrive, odds are pretty good that you will do what you can to take advantage of that opportunity.

How Stan Lee Became Cool to the 21st Century Generation
Who knew that a nonagenarian could be cool? Apparently, Marvel did when Stan Lee first started an incredible string of cameo appearances in a range of Marvel television shows and movies, beginning with 2008's Iron Man. Now, kids and adults alike can't imagine a Marvel movie without him, though it's widely believed that Lee's final cameo will be in the as-yet publicly untitled Avengers 4.

Matthew Shepard: A Young Man, a Tragic Reminder
I vividly remember the first time I watched The Laramie Project. I'd been invited to a conference in support of the LGBTQ+ community at the University of Saskatchewan by a friend of mine, and knowing little about it at the time, I jumped at the chance. That evening, there was a play—The Laramie Project—and it took my breath away. Images of the young man who had been pistol whipped and tied to a Texas gate to die broke my heart, as it did so many others.

Why Jamie Lee Curtis' Appeal Endures
I became a fan of Jamie Lee Curtis a bit later in the game than some of my peers. As a teen, I knew her as a horror and suspense actor, thanks to movies like Blue Steel and, of course, Halloween, and neither genre appealed much to me. As schlocky as it sounds, I did not need to fuel my already-active imagination with dreams of a goalie mask-wearing bad guy carrying a bloody knife, among other things.
