The Ultimate Pandemic Survival Kit
Let's be honest, this pandemic has placed most of the world in complete survival mode. From the very beginning, we saw people rushing to buy up as many essential products as they could get their hands on (namely, toilet paper) and now people are either rushing to receive the vaccine or being very wary of it. All of this is the result of our survival instincts kicking in because COVID has thrusted us into largely uncharted territory. Most people alive today have never lived through a pandemic at this level and so it has caused some pretty interesting responses.

The Perfect Bollywood Films for American Movie Fans
As an American, it often comes as a surprise to many people that I am such a big fan of Bollywood movies. Bollywood is the Indian equivalent of Hollywood, being the movie making industry located in Mumbai, India. But for many, it is an acquired taste that requires a slight understanding of the Indian culture to really enjoy. Where American films tend to be more subtle but to the point, Bollywood films are often very over the top, include singing and dancing, and are extremely long (they typically range from two to four hours long). But as someone who enjoys old films and Broadway musicals, the over the top acting and musical numbers don't bother me and coming from a West African background where movies are typically dragged across four installments, the long run times also don't bother me. But not all Americans, or westerners in general, are the same. Thankfully, there are Bollywood movies for every kind of cinephile and while it may be hard to escape the long run times, the beauty of certain films will hopefully make the time go by a lot faster.

Creepy West African Urban Legends, Myths & Secrets
All over the world urban legends, myths, and conspiracies play a big part in any society's culture. In the western world, urban legends like Bigfoot, the Loch Ness monster, and myths about haunted locations play an interesting role in our social lives. In the motherland of civilization, this is no different. Just like in the west, on the continent of Africa myths, urban legends, and societal secrets have been passed down through oral traditions, literature, and entertainment.

Profile of a Young Black Creator & Mental Health Advocate. Top Story - March 2021.
When I was graduating from high school, my older sister told me that college is the place where I'll make my lifelong friends. I prayed then that she was correct because I couldn't imagine getting through such a big change in my life without good friends by my side. I've come to realize that my sister was right because throughout my college journey, I made a few friends who I can definitely see being there for the biggest moments in my life. In my freshman year of college, I met an unassuming but incredibly creative young man named Raymond Campbell III and since then he's been a friend that I know I can always call on and he's doing great things in his life.

A Break Down of My Personality That No One Asked For. Second Place in In the Stars Challenge.
I'll admit it, I kind of have an obsession with personality tests. I happen to know that I am a Type 3, INTP Slytherin. And what have I done with this information? Besides using it to come up with cool aesthetics, not a damn thing. But do I still click on every single Buzzfeed personality quiz that I see? Hell yeah.

The Never-Ending Story of the Women of Motown
As a child, one of the first CDs I ever owned was a Motown's Greatest Hits CD that I got for my eleventh birthday. Being that I turned eleven in 2009, decades after Motown's golden era under founder Berry Gordy, Jr. had already ended, my music taste led people to believe that I was an old soul. But the truth is that Motown's music is timeless and has remained in people's hearts and minds since its inception in the late 50s.

My Real Life Peach Creek Estates
When you're a kid and you can't drive and nearly every important place in your life is within a three mile radius of one another, your perspective of the world is very small. That's how the shows I watched as a kid were able to convince me that big elaborate adventures were happening in unreasonably small spaces, like the backyard in The Backyardigans or the sandbox in the Rugrats or my personal favorite, Peach Creek Estates in Ed, Edd, n Eddy.

20 Black Love Songs For the Perfect Valentine's Day. Top Story - February 2021.
February doesn't get enough credit for being one of the best months of the year. From it being Black History Month to Valentine's Day on the 14th to the freaking Super Bowl, there is a lot to celebrate in this short month (at least, if you live in the U.S.). And what is any celebration without music? Boring, that's what.

Why I Refuse to Talk About the Chiefs' Loss
If you've read my story Surviving "Killa City", you might know that as a Kansas City native, I am a big Chiefs fan. Which is why this year's Super Bowl definitely was a downer for me. So much so that I checked out right before half time (I didn't even watch the Halftime Show and that's saying something because I love watching the Halftime shows). After spending two quarters yelling at my TV and cussing out the referees for the constant flags against the Chiefs, I knew in order to keep my blood pressure at a normal level, it was best to remove myself from the carnage.
