Warwick Castle.
When I was invited to Warwick Castle, I must admit I was slightly apprehensive and not entirely sure I wanted to go. Actually, that’s a lie, I 100% wanted to go. Have you seen this beast of a castle? It was originally built by William the Conqueror in 1068. Obviously I want to go.

As I stepped off the plane and my tired eyes looked all around me, I saw mountains, snow capped alps, lime green grass and healthy tall trees. I breathed in the freshest air I believe my lungs have ever been filled with. I'm not on Planet Earth anymore.

Travelling Through China
Setting off from home was exciting and nerve-wracking and scary as hell. China wasn't just a little fun holiday, it was the first destination of many to come. China was mine and my besties little trip together to say goodbye to each other for the next two to three years before setting off on our different paths.

Travelling Through China.
Travelling through China was EPIC and I would recommend it to anyone. Especially if you're interested in vast, rural mountains, ancient history dating back thousands of years, sacred temples and really long and great walls. Wherever you land, get some rest, then head on out to Rural China.

I spent Christmas with strangers.
Gratitude; noun “the quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful”. My parents always taught me not to speak to strangers. I never answered the front door without looking through the peephole first (or the window when I was too little to reach), I didn’t stop to talk to anyone I didn’t know in the park or on the way home from school. If someone pulled their car over, I walked faster and out of reach and if that wasn't possible I pretended to be on a phone call. Stranger Danger they call it. It is one of the vital lessons for children to learn, especially in this day and age where technology makes talking to strangers so accessible.

Sometimes You Just Have to be Done...
Sometimes you just have to be done. Something triggered me yesterday. Heart breaking, dream crushing news got me bad. And I wanted to curl up in a ball, hide in the dark, and the thought of never coming out of the blankets occurred to me as a really brilliant idea. How genius, if I stay here in bed forever, I will never have any problems again. I wont have to deal with the current problems I do have. I am so smart, SMRT. Seriously though... the world keeps turning. Sometimes I'm not exactly sure how, but it does.

The Best Coffee in Edinburgh
A long journey, a weight lifting drive that takes us further from heavy, isolated, home-stayed days. A friendly smile, a comfortable couch, then the sip of pure, warm, joy. We looked at each other after that first mouthful of goodness, a mirrored smile spreading on both pale faces.

The Gray, Grey, Shade
They said it wasn't for me, that it would be cold. I was told about the architecture, the hills of green, the Cairns of snow, the Lochs where monsters hide and the breathtaking views some could only dream. I was mostly told about the cold.

Leaving home, setting goals.
It’s scary. It’s probably the scariest thing you could ever do when it’s the first time and it’s for a long time. Whether you’re moving out for the first time, by yourself, with friends, with your love or if you’re leaving to travel, interstate or abroad. Whatever it may be, do it 100%, but my advice is to do it with a set goal in place too.

Dunbeath, you 'Dun' Good.
I couldn’t quite get enough of Dunbeath Castle. From the initial emailed appointment, the long amazing first impression driveway with the overhanging leafless branches, the friendly welcome from the gardener, to the walled winter gardens, the warm and bright sun (surprisingly so as it had rained almost the whole 40 minute drive there) reflecting on the ocean and of course, the castle itself, built neatly on the cliffside of the North Sea in Northern Scotland. Somewhere beyond the eye can see will be Norway, Denmark and the North East Coast of Scotland.

Re-frame for Happiness
Bare with me, I will get to the point I promise. The anticipation of photographing a powerful and mutant wave. His spirit wave he calls it. The energy it gives, the form it takes, the way it literally looks like it can chew you up and spit you out no matter how strong a swimmer or surfer you may be. It has a name this wave, The Bull. From the first time he saw it, he knew we’d be coming back. His gut told him this is where he is meant to be. This is where he will be happy. This would be “THE” wave. His wave. Some may say it sounds silly to claim a wave, it can’t be done. But you should see how he’s captured it. It’s perfectly his.
