My Review of "Ad Astra"
Ad Astra didn't seem that interesting in its trailer. It basically explained to us that there's an astronaut that's sent on a mission to find his long lost father. What I didn't realize is that they wanted to keep much of the details under wraps because there's so much more to this movie than just that. There's the journey of his self discovery. It's an interesting story but not exactly a movie for everyone.

My Review of "The Darkest Hour"
The Darkest Hour is confusing because it may be confused with a much superior movie called Darkest Hour that recently came out. The movie with "The" in the title is about an alien invasion where a bunch of youth try to figure a way to escape Moscow and go back home. The movie came out back in 2011 which isn't that long ago but the special effects didn't age well. It's an okay diversion but there are certain things that just don't make sense in this movie.

My Review of "Les trois couleurs : blanc (The three colors: white)"
Les trois couleurs : blanc (The three colors: white) is a pretty old movie. It came out back in 1994. I wasn't sure what I was going to get myself into but I noticed that it was a revenge movie and I usually can't really resist revenge movies. After watching this movie I noticed how dated it would seem to today's standards. Some of the things that happen in this movie would never be able to happen today but then again some of the motivations would seem pretty toxic as well.

My Review of "Feel the Beat"
Feel the Beat is a movie that feels like a safe play by numbers movie. There are some twists to show progression but there are some terrible cliches that it falls for as well. Still you don't really watch these movies for their incredible progressiveness either. This can be a guilty pleasure for many and I can see why.

My Review of "Disclosure"
Disclosure is an interesting documentary as we are getting more and more trans representation in films and TV shows. I was curious why the jump in trans representation has jumped so fast recently when there are other minority groups that aren't quite represented quite as much even though they carry a higher percentage of the population. I was hoping to hear some new perspectives as well.

My Review of "Nadie Sabe Que Estoy Aqui (Nobody Knows I'm here)"
Nadie Sabe Que Estoy Aqui (Nobody Knows I'm Here) is a Spanish film that seemed really interesting from its movie trailer. The trailer basically shows us that there's this kid that was really good at singing but for some reason he's later isolated to a remote area in his adult life. He looks miserable and disturbed so I was intrigued at what the story had in store. I decided to take the plunge and there was much more to this movie than I thought.

My Review of "Harry Styles: Fine Line"
Harry Styles: Fine Line is an album that I didn't think I'd expect to like as much as I did. I haven't heard his previous album but this album makes me want to go back to check it out. I only know that he's a member of one direction but I never really listened to their music either. I think I might be becoming a fan.

My Review of "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy Vs. The Reverend"
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy Vs. The Reverend is an interactive adventure exclusive on Netflix. It's pretty interesting to see Netflix innovate with their programming by allowing interactive films on their streaming source. I'm sure this might be one of the pioneering films of this sort. Although I think it this option might be better catered to children than an adult audience.

My Review of "The Expendables 3"
The Expendables 3 came out back in 2014 and I honestly can't tell you why it took me this long to finally see this one. I've seen the first two Expendables movies and they were okay movies. They weren't anything to write home about but I kind of remember liking them way back when they first came out. Well that's a really blurry memory so maybe I didn't enjoy them quite as much as I remember.

My Review of "Ready or Not"
Ready or Not is a movie that I didn't think I would have watched since I'm catching up on a ton of movies on my watch list. It's a movie about a newlywed couple that has to go through a bizarre and insane family tradition. What I experienced was one of the more original movie concepts that I have seen in a quite some time. I regularly don't watch horror movies but this movie was a pretty good one. It wasn't that scary though.

My Review of "Land of the Dead"
Land of the Dead seems like a mindless zombie movie but there is a little more to this movie than just zombies. I have to admit that the zombies were the draw to me for this movie but they aren't the main emphasis of this movie. It turned out to be a deeper movie than I had anticipated and I appreciate the effort they put into this movie.

My Review of "Meet Joe Black"
Meet Joe Black is definitely not what I would consider a genre that I usually look forward to watching. It's a romantic drama that dives into the discussion of why life is precious and why we value it. Of course there are a few flaws here but I ended up liking this movie more than I had anticipated. Although, I do have some mixed impressions of the movie but we have to remember it's just a movie.
