My Review of "Harry Styles: Fine Line"
An album that runs through a gamut of emotions. I didn't expect to like it this much.

Harry Styles: Fine Line is an album that I didn't think I'd expect to like as much as I did. I haven't heard his previous album but this album makes me want to go back to check it out. I only know that he's a member of one direction but I never really listened to their music either. I think I might be becoming a fan.
This album starts off with the first few songs about finding a person and discovering love. The songs are pretty lively and upbeat and you can feel the enthusiasm in each of these pop hits. These are most likely the songs that will get some good radio play.
Then the songs go a little darker. He changes his tone real quick. The next few songs feel like there's love lost. It's done very nicely because I feel as though the transitions between the songs aren't entirely totally off brand. They don't feel that different from the earlier upbeat pop songs because they have the same feel and style to the songs even though they're more moody and sad.
After the loss of his love he goes into a few songs that go into the loneliness that he's experienced after the loss of his love. Again the songs still feel that they have that Harry Style style that allow the play-through of the album so easy and comfortable. It's like he's trying to tell a whole story through each proceeding song.
Finally the last few songs kind of come to acceptance of the loss and to live life in the best way he can. The songs become more upbeat and you realize the darkness is over and he's accepted the loss and going to continue his life.
To think of all of these songs and arrange them the way that he did must have been pretty difficult. I don't know how his thought process went when he made this album but the whole album has a whole story and it's totally comprehensive. It's actually very easy to follow and I think anyone would be able to understand it. I guess that's the beauty about pop albums.
I like the variety in the songs that he had chosen. It's a whole slew of feelings that go from up to down. The songs are very different from each other without going off the Harry Style brand. Although I don't really know his music the songs do have a distinct style and I have come to relate this style to him because I don't think I've ever heard too many artists play music similar to this style.
I feel like he's willing to take risks with his music because he plays a lot with the tone of his singing with each song. It feels like he's trying to challenge himself as an artist to come up with variety to keep himself on his toes as a singer.
The only thing that I kind of have issues with is that this album is relatively short. In total I believe this album is only 46 minutes long. I can certainly understand that he chose these songs specifically so that he could tell such a comprehensive story and as a result he was only 46 minutes long. This would mean that he opted not to put in any filler to fill in space and wanted to stick to his vision. I admire that decision.
Overall, I thought it was a really well made and well thought out album. Although, I don't know Harry Styles that well I think I will be checking out more of his work because of this album. I have to give this album an 8 out of 10. I will be recommending this album to people and telling them that he's a greater artist than people think.
