Freewriting Exercise
I have not been motivated to write for days, nor have I found much inspiration. So, I'm doing an exercise that I was taught in high school to get the gears flowing. This will be ten, unadulterated minutes of freewriting. Whatever comes out of my mind will be on the page. I cannot promise proper spelling or grammar, I can only promise what comes out of me to be authentic. Feel free to give it a try and see where it takes you...

From Person Who Writes, to Writer. Top Story - September 2023.
Ever since I was a child my Nana always encouraged me to keep a journal. Every year for Christmas, she would gift me a new notebook and pen. The first year this tradition started, I got a little spiral book with a duck swimming through the water on the cover. I was in the 7th grade, and I remember writing about the intricacies and emotions of middle school. They were silly little musings with no real purpose, and there were months between the entries. Not much has changed about my writing style. I'm on top of it hard, and I fall off hard. There's no in between.

I feel this challenge has the potential to be a great community builder and allow us to know more about each other. So, here goes nothing:

Midnight Sun - A review
Listen, I'm a Twihard, but the MID in Midnight is the best way to describe this book. I had to DNF. It's something that I never do, but I have barely read since May because I refuse to read more than one book at a time (I know, it's a problem).

Full Moon. Content Warning.
I could see my breath in the cool autumn air. The carbon dioxide spiraled in front of me beneath the shine of the full moon, coming in through the treetops. A wolf howled, but otherwise, my campsite was silent. I couldn't remember waking from slumber.

I Blame Padmé Amidala. Top Story - September 2023. Content Warning.
CONTENT WARNING distressing language, suicidal thoughts, pregnancy, traumatic labor Fear and Shame I'll never forget watching Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith with my father. He was so excited to show me these movies. Episodes IV, V, and VI came out during his childhood, and he wanted to share his love for the series with me. He was as excited as a little kid. We made popcorn and settled in front of the big screen with the surround sound blasting, ready for the experience of a lifetime. The rise of Darth Vader.
