Self Criticism, an Overwhelmed Mind, and How it Leads to Self Destruction...
“I am bored.” This is simply not a statement I can relate to. Unfortunately, it is not because I’m just that productive 24/7, or even a large chunk of time. I deeply struggle with learning how to “shut my brain off.” I have a million “ideas,” and want to explore all of them. When it’s time to rest, have fun, or decompress, I struggle, because I have programmed my mind to believe that I have not “earned” those “luxuries.” There is simply too much to do that I’ve yet to finish (or start). Unfortunately, that ultimately ends up with me getting barely anything accomplished. Sooo...the vicious cycle repeats itself. It has been a vicious cycle that has taken a lot of self reflection to change. I had to dig deep, asking myself some very important questions.

5 Truths about Coping with Grief and Loss
Coping with loss and grief can be quite the rollercoaster, and is something that we are facing even more in 2020. After losing my dad to a long battle with cancer, I struggled for years with how to deal with it healthily. Here are five truths about coping,and the grieving process, that I finally uncovered (as well as a quote for each point, written by me). Let them sink in, as well as the knowledge that even though you WILL experience grief, you WILL be okay. Trust the process. Embrace it, without rushing it. Life may never be the same, but that leaves room for personal growth.

The Mind of a Depressed Soul
Depression isn’t something I would wish on my worst enemy. I get so frustrated with myself at times for my lack of understanding of what is going on inside my OWN head, and I imagine I am not alone in those frustrations. However, as I was deep in thought earlier, trying to comprehend this latest tormenting depression spell, I was hit with a new perspective. It was like my “aha” moment. I am finally beginning to see a very important aspect of understanding myself and my life, which oddly enough, is that understanding this also encompasses an understanding that NOT understanding is okay.

The Fear of Failure
How many of you fear the thought of “failing” at something, so much to the point of it even getting in the way of you pursuing some of your passions and dreams? Personally speaking, I have found many situations in which my anxiety over the consequences of said “failure” have actually prohibited me from doing things, that quite honestly, could have been successful, and could have made an impact.
