Practical Magic Summer Series: Part Two 🦋
I'm outside in the garden this morning, sitting on my blanket, having a little coffee and breakfast al fresco style. The air is thick and muggy. June in Texas is always a little bit temperamental; either it gets too hot too quickly, or it's tornado season. Rarely is there an in between.

Practical Magic Summer Series: Part One 🔆
As long as I can remember, I have always been obsessed with magic. Maybe it was because my childhood felt small and uneventful in the quiet suburbs outside of Dallas. Maybe it was because I had, as my parents called it, a runaway imagination, and was often frustrated that others in my family seemed to prefer reality.

Winter Blues and The Wheel of The Year
If you’re like me, you may be feeling a touch of the winter blues this month. Coupled with the current events in the news, it may be something stronger than a touch that you’re feeling. It can be difficult to see past the clouds at this moment in time, and coupled with the lack of sunlight, cold weather and post holiday blues, I don’t blame anyone who is spending most of their time in a horizontal position.

The Same You in 2025
The gym commercials blare on my TV, a rude interruption during the suspense and drama of my evening show. I watch the happy, smiling, thin women workout on my screen. They look great, I won’t lie. The commercial cuts to text on the screen, how much money I can save by joining now.

Lughnasadh✨
Lughnasadh, one of the eight holidays that fall on the pagan Wheel of the Year, has returned this August first (or for some, the first Sunday in August). It falls about halfway between the Summer Solstice (Litha) and the Autumn Equinox (Mabon). Celtic in origin, Lughnasadh is a holiday that traditionally welcomes the transition from the dog days of summer to the start of the harvest season.

Notes On A Summer Garden:
I’m standing outside this morning watering the garden. I am such an optimistic gardener in the spring. I am so motivated by the new growth of the bushes and trees and the sturdy stems of the seeds I started in my little three-season porch back in January. This is the year I think to myself, This is the year my garden thrives. I am so confident, and so committed.

unsubscribed.
7:00 Am Literal zombies get more sleep than I did last night. I’m not going to lie, getting that text message completely freaked me out. I had been restless all night, and after an already unusually stressful day previous, I was completely racked when I woke up. I forced myself to sit up.
