Would it be better?
"I know have to remember you longer than I have known you." A quote that has been stuck in my mind ever since I heard it. I don't know who it's by, but it's torn me to shreds. Never in my life did I ever imagine I would wake up one morning to the love of my life gone forever. Never did I imagine I would have to make that call to his parents, family and friends. He wasn't sick, he wasn't a "junkie", he was perfectly fine. The day before was a normal day. I woke up at 6AM to feed the cats and he woke up at 8. Which was odd for him since he usually slept until 1 or 2PM. But, I was happy he was up so early. More time to spend with him.

The Garden
The sun was hot on her face as she laid in her garden. A smile across her face as she soaked in the heat. It had been raining and cold all week, now the rain spell was broken. A slight breeze rippled through the grass, the sounds of birds chirping, insects buzzing. She didn't even care the ground was still wet and a bit muddy. She had missed being in her garden which was her pride and joy. She sat up, her long brown hair sticking to her back and started inspecting the flowers around her. Making sure the rain didn't over-water them. She gleamed when she was done - none of her flowers wilting. She stood up and started spinning in the middle, her light-blue dress flowing around her, arms out and face towards the sky.

The Knight
She was alone in a cold world of abuse from the people who were supposed to love and protect her. Her mother who never protected her, who abused her in ways a mother never should. A partner that grew to hate her despite doing her best to keep him happy. A father who was there but not present in the way he should have been. Her heart cold and bitter, closed off to everyone swearing to never open herself to anyone ever again. Yet she was always screaming on the inside for someone to save her. Men she had trusted betrayed her and used her, women using her to achieve their own goals. There was little left of her heart, the only love she gave was to her own daughter. Until one night she met him. She didn’t know it yet but he would be the one to save her. He would be the one to put the warmth and trust back into her heart. He was the one she had been internally screaming for but had eventually given up on.
