Cocaine Bear
So I have been so excited for Cocaine Bear since I first saw the trailer, when I found out it was based on something real I wanted to see it even more because the very idea of a black bear for realsies high on cocaine is hilarious. Lots of films we've seen lately have been intellectual and have made statements (or at least attempted to) and this movie was clearly just for entertainment and I was super ready to just shut my mind off for an hour and a half, so let's get to it…

Friends, HIMYM, & New Girl
Rachel, Robin & Jess The Main Character These are the main characters of their respective shows, yes they are all ensemble casts but the show simply wouldn’t exist without these 3. All of the other characters' actions and main storylines are set into motion with the introduction of these women and the progression of any story or character growth is contingent upon their existence.

The Last of Us
So like I’ve said before zombies are not my thing and the clickers or whatever in the Last of Us are super creepy and gross, which leaves me wondering every episode if I am going to continue watching this show. The problem is that the writing is so good, it's very hard to pass. So let's dive into my thoughts on episodes 3&4.

Friends, New Girl & HIMYM
Joey, Barney & Schmitt The Womanizer This is possibly the most direct comparison, as all of these men are written to be redeemable and charming and charismatic but if you think about their actions, they are absolutely terrible people.

Friends, New Girl, & HIMYM
So the internet loves to dissect the personalities and flaws of TV and film characters all the time. We all know that it's one of my favorite things to do. One of the things that pops up on my social media a lot is the analysis of Friends and How I Met Your Mother so I thought I would throw my two cents in. I will be analyzing the similarities of these shows and their characters, how they are really all bad people and adding in New Girl because all three shows are self-contained around an ensemble cast who are all friends with rather incestuous relations. Now each of these shows has similar sets of characters that we will be analyzing from most to least awful.

Valentine's Day Movies
So if you are like me and aren’t really a Valentine’s Day person you might stay in and watch movies instead, even if you are a Valentine’s Day person maybe you are looking for some romantic movies to watch either by yourself or with someone special this week. So here we go. Here are my favorite choices for Valentine’s Day movies. In no particular order…

Knock at the Cabin
So a new M. Night Shyamalan movie has been released and that means that once again the internet will be split. Shyamalan has a reputation for big twists and risks that sometimes pay off and sometimes don’t. He in fact owes me 15 mediocre movies to make up for the existence of Avatar the Last Airbender. Knock at the Cabin did accomplish one of those spots.

Women Talking
Women Talking was a film I knew I had to see, the minute I saw the trailer. I also knew from the trailer that this was going to be a hard one to watch, yet it would be so worth it. This movie will also be on my 2023 list of films despite it being considered for Oscars and having a 2022 release date, it wasn’t widely released until January so I am counting it for 2023. Any story of trauma and abuse is going to be difficult to watch regardless of its rating, but what I truly appreciated about this film is that it was very clearly a story told by women.

Maybe I Do
The first 2023 movie of the year was Maybe I Do, a film we went into thinking that we were going to be watching a rom com. What we ended up watching was a deconstruction of marriage and relationships. Thematically it very much felt like the stage play it was adapted from and that was both good and bad for the film itself. With an iconic cast and the cinematography of a classic rom com, Maybe I Do held so much more for its audience than a meet cute and an act 3 misunderstanding.

James Gunn's DCU
After what felt like forever DC fans finally got some information on where the DCU is headed under the guidance of James Gunn. And it is everything I could have hoped for, as soon as Gunn was hired I all of a sudden had hope for DC. We finally have someone in charge who not only reads comics but respects them, he is using the amazing source material at his disposal to bring fans some incredible projects. All that said I would like to throw it out there that all of this means nothing if he allows Ezra Miller to continue in this universe. A good writer and director aside, I think asking our artists to be mediocre human beings is not too much to ask. Simply don’t be awful…not difficult. But here we go with all the projects James Gunn announced for the DCU.

Galactus
As we start discussing the introduction of cosmic heroes, Galactus is one that may or may not appear in the MCU though I can not see how they can do some of the current storylines their planning without him, they may choose to omit his existence for…reasons. That said, you know I like giving non-comic book readers some background into these characters before they appear on the big screen.
