WPL is Starting from 23 Feb, 2024

The second edition of the WPL (Women’s Premier League) in the end commenced with an interesting contest between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. With the match underway, it became noticed that the marquee opposition was following the old rules of the Decision Review System (DRS). At least in one particular clause.

The tournament will comply with the vintage regulations of a stumping appeal, that has been the world over deserted. The vintage rules said that the ones caught behind may also be checked while an appeal for a stumping is made. The equal rule is in play inside the WPL 2024, however no longer in international cricket.

The motive for the rule of thumb’s staying power is because of the BCCI’s (Board of Control for Cricket in India) domestic season, which started in September, but the ICC changed the rule of thumb most effective in December ultimate year. Furthermore, it is not clear whether or not the BCCI can make the alternate in the approaching season of the IPL (Indian Premier League), which is slated to begin on March 22.

The beginning in the shape of itself has become a testimony to the immoderate-octane cricket the league guarantees, with Mumbai Indians overcoming Delhi Capitals in a thrilling stumble. Despite a subpar start using the Capitals, wonderful performances through the manner of Alice Capsey and Jemimah Rodrigues propelled the institution to an aggressive general. However, the Mumbai Indians led through stellar innings from Yastika Bhatia and Harmanpreet Kaur, and chased down the target with the last-ball hit, marking a successful beginning to their campaign.
