French artist Claude-Joseph Vernet was known for portraying the waterfalls of Tivoli in Rome Italy. This artwork is one of his most memorable which depicts the landscape of Rome and the Tivoli waterfalls.

Tivoli with the Temple of the Sybil and the Cascades Joseph Mallord William Turner

English artist Joseph Mallord William Turner is known as one of the most gifted painters of the 19th century. He is known for creating masterful landscape artworks. This is one of his most iconic paintings depicting a famous landmark in Rome, Italy the Temple of Sybil. The famous waterfalls of Tivoli are seen in the center of the painting.

A Waterfall in a Rocky Landscape Jacob Van Ruisdael

Dutch artist Jacob Van Ruisdael created paintings during the 1650s depicting waterfalls supposedly located in Germany or Scandinavia. He is known for his landscape paintings. This artwork depicts rushing water surrounded by rocks and forest.

Japanese artist Hiroshi Senju was known for depicting realistic waterfalls. The artist is known for using ancient techniques of crushing precious minerals to create pigments for his paintings. His waterfall series is among the most famous artworks ever created. You can see the mist coming from the falls.

American landscape artist Frederic Edwin Church was a 19th-century painter known to be masterful in landscape painting. He created this artwork of Niagara Falls which is one of the most impressive natural spectacles in the world. His painting of the Horseshoe Falls is the largest of the three different waterfalls forming Niagara Falls.

Cascade Falls, Yosemite 1905 Thomas Moran

American artist Thomas Moran is a highly regarded American landscape artist. He is a member of the famous Hudson River School. Much of his artwork portrayed the rugged beauty of the Rocky Mountain wilderness. The artists created this artwork depicting the Cascade Fall which is one of the most illustrious attractions in Yosemite National Park.

German-American artist Albert Bierstadt is known for his landscape painting, He was part of the famous Hudson River School. The artist was known for depicting the American frontier in the 19th century. The artist created this artwork before human intervention. He painted the river as a sweeping body of water that was sacred to the nearby tribes of Native Americans. Today these falls are located at the northeastern edge of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Casting in the Falls 1889 Winslow Homer

American landscape artist Winslow Homer was looked upon as one of the most famous landscape artists in American history. He painted during the Realism movement taking place in the 19th century. This artwork depicts a fisherman casting a rod and reel into a small waterfall supposedly in the remote Adirondack Mountains.
