True wealth lies not in gold, but in kindness and the joy of sharing.

The Secret of Becoming Rich

OUbaid nce upon a time, there lived a poor man in a small village. He was a hardworking laborer who spent his days doing different kinds of jobs—sometimes carrying heavy loads for merchants, sometimes helping farmers in the fields, and sometimes doing small repairs for villagers. Whatever he earned from his daily labor, he brought home with gratitude. Though his earnings were meager, he and his family managed to live a simple life with patience and contentment.

The poor man was kindhearted and generous by nature. He had a big dream in his heart: he wished to educate his little children so that they could live a better life than he did. He longed to see them in schools, reading books, and growing into wise individuals. But the reality was harsh—he did not have enough money to afford school fees, books, or other educational expenses. Still, he never gave up hope.

Another remarkable quality of the man was his compassion for others. Despite his poverty, he could not see anyone hungry. If he had only a little food and saw another person starving, he would always share his meal, even if it meant he himself would remain half-hungry. His heart was full of generosity and faith that whatever he gave away would come back to him in another form.

One day, the poor man had to travel to a distant village to find work. The journey was long, and the sun was blazing hot. After walking for many hours, he began to feel exhausted. His back ached, his legs trembled, and his throat became dry. Looking around, he saw a large shady tree by the side of the road. Deciding to rest for a while, he sat under its cool shade. As he leaned back against the trunk, something unexpected happened.

From above, a piece of paper floated down and landed near him. Surprised, the man picked it up. To his amazement, it had strange words written on it: “The Secret of Becoming Rich.” Along with the writing, there was a map drawn on the paper. At first, the man thought someone might have dropped it by mistake, but after looking around and seeing no one, he felt as though destiny itself had placed it into his hands.

Curious and hopeful, he decided to follow the map. Without wasting a moment, he got up and started his journey. The path took him through fields, across small hills, and into thick groves of trees. After walking for hours, he finally reached the spot marked on the map.

There, something extraordinary happened. A beautiful fairy appeared before him, glowing with a radiant light. The man was stunned and stood speechless, but the fairy smiled gently and spoke:

“Poor man, I know your heart’s desire. You want to become rich, don’t you?”

The man, still in awe, slowly nodded his head in agreement.

The fairy continued, “Listen carefully. By the riverbank lies a treasure chest filled with gold. But it is buried very deep in the ground. No one has ever known this secret before. If you want to claim it, you will have to dig persistently. It will not be easy, but if you remain patient and determined, you will succeed. That chest will make you a wealthy man.”

Before the poor man could say anything more, the fairy vanished into thin air.

The man stood there for a while, still amazed by what had just happened. Then, filled with new hope and energy, he made his way toward the riverbank. When he reached the place, he picked up a spade and began to dig.

The digging was not easy. The soil was hard, and his hands soon became sore and blistered. Day after day, he returned to the riverbank, working tirelessly. Villagers who passed by laughed at him. “What foolishness!” they mocked. “Why waste your time digging for something that doesn’t exist?”

But the poor man did not give up. He remembered the fairy’s words and believed in the secret map. He was determined to succeed, no matter how much effort it required.

Weeks passed. His body grew thinner, his clothes got torn, and his skin darkened under the sun. Yet he kept digging deeper and deeper. Finally, one day, his spade struck something hard. With trembling hands, he cleared the soil around it and discovered a large wooden chest. His heart raced with excitement. When he opened it, his eyes widened in disbelief—inside, the chest was overflowing with shining gold coins.

The poor man fell to his knees, tears of joy streaming down his face. All his struggles, all his patience, and all his faith had been rewarded. At last, he had found the treasure that could change his life forever.

With the gold, the man did not just think of himself. He remembered his long-cherished dream of educating his children. He enrolled them in the best schools he could find, bought them books, and gave them opportunities he never had. But he did not stop there.

The kindhearted man also began helping others. He provided food to the hungry, clothes to the needy, and even supported poor children so they could study. His wealth became a blessing not only for himself but for the entire community.

Time passed, and the once-poor man became known not just as a wealthy person but as a generous and noble man. People respected him deeply, not because of his gold, but because of his kindness and the way he shared his blessings.

Dear children, this story teaches us a valuable lesson: Sharing increases blessings. When we give to others, our wealth and happiness do not decrease; instead, they grow in unseen ways. Therefore, we should always nurture the habit of sharing, for it makes life more meaningful and fills the world with love and kindness.
