The Return of the Ghost”

Silent Hunting Ground – Part 2

By Shanzada Published 6 months ago 2 min read

Six months later
Location: Northern Highlands – Undisclosed Safehouse

Snow blanketed the hills like a white shroud. Inside a wooden cabin lit only by a fireplace, Zameer Aftab opened his eyes.

Scars now marked his body — reminders of the night the warehouse burned.

He wasn’t the same man anymore.

The sniper… had become a symbol. A whisper in enemy circles. They called him "The Ghost of Marvi."

---

Zameer stood, limping slightly, and stared at the rifle on the wall — the same one he used to kill Salman Dhamra. He wasn’t proud of the kill. But he didn’t regret it.

Just then, Shireen entered. She held a file — thick, sealed, and dangerous.

> "You're not healed yet," she said, but he could see it in her eyes — something urgent had come up.

“I’ll heal later,” he said, voice low. “What’s the mission?”

---

Operation: Iron Vulture

Target: Farhad Kulhari
A former intelligence officer, now turned rogue.
He wasn’t just selling weapons — he was auctioning classified national secrets to global mercenaries.

And worse... he had a list of every undercover agent in Pakistan, India, and the Middle East.

If the file was sold, hundreds of agents would be slaughtered.

Zameer’s job?

Take him out before the auction. Recover the file. No survivors.

---

Location: Istanbul, Turkey
Farhad had turned an abandoned cathedral into his fortress — gothic architecture, steel security, and armed drones patrolling the skies.

Zameer arrived alone.

Disguised as a foreign dealer, he slipped into the crowd of criminals, hackers, and smugglers. It was a festival of evil — and Farhad was the king.

Zameer spotted him near the altar, laughing with his men. A silver case lay beside him — the file.

He tapped his earpiece.

> "I have visual. Give me a path to extraction."

Shireen’s voice replied:

> "Cameras on the west wall. Security blind spot in the bell tower. You’ll have 3 minutes."

---

Zameer moved like water.

Up the spiral stairs of the bell tower. Avoiding guards. Avoiding detection.

He reached the top.

Wind howled through the broken stained glass.

He lay flat, adjusted his sniper rifle.

Scope locked on Farhad.

Then — click.

He paused. Something was wrong.

The silver case was a decoy.

> "Abort!" Shireen said. "He knew we were coming. It’s a setup!"

But it was too late.

An explosion rocked the building.

Zameer was flung backwards.

Smoke, screams, fire.

A voice boomed through loudspeakers.

> "You thought I wouldn’t find the Ghost?" Farhad laughed. "Now you will die — like your brother."

Zameer’s blood froze.

How did Farhad know about Sameer?

---

Zameer crawled down, bleeding, furious.
This wasn’t a mission anymore. It was personal again.

He killed two guards with his combat knife. Stole a machine pistol.
And began fighting floor by floor.

It wasn’t clean. It wasn’t silent.

It was a war.

Bodies dropped. Alarms blared. Farhad ran toward the crypt below the cathedral, holding the real data chip.

Zameer chased him into the underground tunnel.

Stone walls. Echoes. Blood.

---

They faced off in the dark.
Farhad aimed a gold-plated pistol.

> “You can’t stop what’s coming,” he spat. “The file will be uploaded in 10 minutes.”

Zameer tossed a flashbang.

Bang!
Then silence.

A bullet pierced Farhad’s shoulder.

Another — his leg.

Zameer walked up, took the chip from his coat, and said coldly:

"For Sameer."

He fired once.

Farhad slumped, dead.

---

Zameer limped out, covered in blood, smoke rising from behind.

Shireen’s voice came in:

> "Extraction team’s ready. Where’s the chip?"

Zameer smiled slightly.

"Safe in my pocket."

---

Epilogue – Part 2

The stolen agent list never saw daylight.

Farhad’s cartel disbanded within weeks.

International agencies began whispering again — about a sniper who worked alone, feared by criminals, unseen by law.

Some called him a myth.

Others called him a murderer.

But those who knew the truth?

They called him what he truly was:

The Silent Hunter.
