Serendipity! the holy grail of Creativity…..
I consider myself strategically well positioned(I don't like using the word fortunate in this context!) to receive the sound bytes delivered in the audiobook by Steven Johnson titled Where Good Ideas Come from- The Natural History of Innovation describe the root of this term ‘Serendipity’ as having originated in Horace Walpole’s letter/ novel where this term originated from the Persian fairy tale of Three Princesses of Serendip who were “Always making Discovery by Accidents, Things that they were not in quest of…..” Well, have I held the torch to the light?( in other words, needless to say) we have just described one of the most essential ingredient of Creativity! The Accidental connection that straightens up our bones to the realization that we have been just transformed in single moment of serendipitous lightening flash and creative life explodes with new possibilities and becomes beautiful again!
