Friends, as you know, monsoon is starting now, so you have to pay special attention to food and drink items. Also, if moisture gets into it, the item spoils quickly. If something like this happens to you with flour, you have to take care of a few things. Let's learn about some simple tips given here.

Rains bring a lot of change. Greenery spreads all around. But at the same time, seasonal pests, mud and dirt feel bad. There is another thing that gets affected the most in the rain and that is the food items in your kitchen. Grains and spices get moths and you have to throw out the bad ones. Namkeen and biscuits become airy due to moisture.

Weevils are found in rice and flour. It also becomes difficult to remove many times. Monsoon is the best season for this pest as it thrives in moisture and humid conditions. It is essential that you store the vegetables, spices and grains in your kitchen evenly.

If you also see tiny mites in your flour packet, it may be that your flour is going bad soon. If you want the flour not to go bad and get moths then you must do this work. It will neither infest the flour nor spoil it.

Keeping flour in a tight container:- Many of us have a habit of keeping the flour in the packet and usually take it out as needed. If you have stored the flour the same way, immediately remove the packet and store it in a metal container. It will not introduce any kind of moisture in the flour and will also prevent any kind of pests in the flour. Also, keeping the flour in a damp place should be avoided. It would be better to keep it on a high slab.

Keep betel leaves in flour:- If you have not kept flour in some kind of metal container, keep 3-4 betel leaves in your packet or container containing flour. The aroma of bay leaf is such that no moth can spoil your flour. If your flour is a bit moldy, add bay leaf to it. Remove the mites when they die. You can also add 7-8 sweet neem leaves with it. Also, always keep the flour packet tightly closed.

Keep cloves in flour:- You will keep this whole garam masala in the kitchen. These hot spices are used not only in cooking but in many kitchen functions. Now look at the cloves. It prevents your flour from going bad. All you have to do is put 4-5 cloves in a flour container or packet and close it tightly. The scent of cloves will also keep mites away from your lot.

Flour should not be kept particularly exposed to moisture, as it increases the chances of spoilage. You can save your lot by trying this method. Thus, by adopting this method, you can prevent things from spoiling in monsoons.
