In the Yellow Rose Garden, where flowers swayed under the spring breeze, four girls gathered near an old fountain. Laila, Salma, Nour, and Hind sat on a wooden bench, sharing laughter and secrets, though heavy hearts lingered beneath.
Laila, the unspoken leader, broke the silence: “Nour, I heard you’re planning to leave after graduation?” Her tone carried a sharp edge, almost accusatory. Nour, with her short hair and gleaming eyes, replied calmly, “Yeah, I’m thinking of studying abroad. Not sure yet.”
Salma, twirling a yellow petal between her fingers, interrupted, “So you’re just leaving us? After everything we’ve been through?” Her eyes glistened with tears. Hind, the quiet one, placed a hand on Salma’s shoulder. “Let her chase her dreams. We don’t have to stay together to be friends.”
Tension rose. Laila, hiding her envy of Nour’s ambition, snapped, “Easy for you to say, Hind. We’re family here. If Nour goes, everything changes.” A heavy silence fell, broken only by the fountain’s soft trickle, as if trying to soothe the air.
Nour stood abruptly, her voice trembling. “I don’t want to lose you all, but I need to think of myself. Why do I always have to choose between my dreams and you?” A tear slid down her cheek. Salma, feeling guilty, approached and hugged her. “I’m not mad, I’m just scared. Scared life will pull us apart.”
Hind, with her usual wisdom, said, “The roses here fade but bloom again each spring. We’re like them—our love will stay, even if we’re apart.” Laila, softened by her own harsh words, took Nour’s hand. “I’m sorry. I was selfish. You deserve to soar.”
Under the glow of sunset, the four girls stood in a circle, hands clasped, surrounded by yellow roses. The solution wasn’t easy, but they chose to support each other, no matter the distance. The garden, in its quiet beauty, bore witness to their farewell and a promise to reunite.
