“She Is Me”
She is not here to be seen –
she is here to see.
To track. To know. To move when the time is right.
She walks alone,
not because she’s lonely,
but because she knows who she is.
And she is not to be mistaken.
She stalks with silence,
but the ground remembers her steps.
She waits with patience,
but the wild respects her hunger.
She has nothing to prove.
She does not roar for applause.
She purrs for her kin
and pounces for her purpose.
Her eyes are portals.
Her presence is prayer.
Her mission is survival,
but her soul is sovereign.
They think she’s a beast.
They forget she’s a mother, a mystic, a monarch.
She is me.
And I painted her at fourteen,
with God whispering through my hands,
on sacred soil remembered from my father’s land –
South Africa.
Zimbabwe.
Home.
I carry her still.
And when I forget who I am,
she reminds me.
I do not walk the earth lightly.
I walk it like it belongs to me.

LIONESS
I painted her at 14, but I see myself in her more with every year.
She is soul, instinct, leadership, femininity, God’s hunter and protector.
She is me.

About the Creator
THE HONED CRONE
Sacred survivor, mythic storyteller, and prophet of the risen feminine. I turn grief, rage, and trauma into art, ritual, and words that ignite courage, truth, and divine power in others.
