Fostered

Lonliness

By Byron LoderickPublished 10 months ago 2 min read

I wrote this not from my head,

But from my heart, where feelings are bled.

For only from the heart can loneliness be shown,

Where the feeling of being unloved is deeply sown.

To be together, in a place where love is found,

A place of care, where souls are unbound.

It’s here, when you feel wanted, truly seen,

That love reveals what it really means.

And though it’s cold, as love gets frosted out,

This part of love is what life’s about.

We wait and hope, we pray and yearn,

For the day when love will return.

But someday, I hope we’ll be together—

Frosted out, but bonded forever.

Loneliness

Loneliness is to live in a world where no one cares,

To step outside and find no one there.

You fall, you stumble, in quiet despair,

Falling to your knees in a silent prayer,

Asking God to rescue you from this cruel snare,

But no one comes, no voice is heard.

Love is missed, the love every child deserves,

Yet they cast you aside, as if you were a word

Forgotten in time, put out of their minds,

Sent to care, but love you can’t find.

The staff may care, yet love feels thin,

For if they truly cared, where would it begin?

I know I’ll die as the years drag by,

Oh, why, Lord, why?

I’ve trusted in You, I’ve clung so tight,

Prayed each day, yet still, no light.

I wait for the day when I’ll be treated with love,

For the greatest joy of a child comes from above—

To know they are loved, to know they belong,

To feel that warmth, to sing their song.

On the Fateful Night of January 1978

It was on this fateful night that Rita first crossed paths with Sutcliffe,

A night that changed everything, stirring feelings so swift.

A moment that remains etched, though time passes by,

Reminding us that the echoes of loneliness never die.
