Here's the simple recipe of baking delicious chocolate cake

Ingredients:

For the Cake:

  • 1 and 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup (65g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 cup (240ml) whole milk, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240ml) boiling water or hot coffee (enhances chocolate flavor)

For the Chocolate Frosting:

  • 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 5 cups (600g) powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) whole milk or heavy cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans or line them with parchment paper.
  • Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Combine wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until smooth.
  • Add boiling water: Stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin, but that's okay! If using, fold in the sour cream for extra moisture.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pans. Divide it evenly between the two pans.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool the cakes: Let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then remove them from the pans and let them cool completely on a wire rack.

Chocolate Frosting:

You can top this cake with your favorite frosting, such as chocolate ganache, buttercream, or whipped cream.
