Georges Braque

French artist Georges Braque was known as one of the most famous French painters of the 20th century. He was also a sculptor, collage artist, and printmaker. Braque was a leading artist during the Fauvism movement and one of the leading artists who led the way to Cubism. Among his best-known artworks is Fruit Dish and Glass, created in 1912.

French artist Paul Cézanne was one of the most celebrated painters of all time and among the best known during the post-impressionism movement. His artwork acted as a bridge between the impressionist movement of the 18th century and the dominant style of the 20th century. Cezanne was known for creating masterpieces with his palette knife. Among his best-known works of art is The Bathers, created in 1905.

French artist Edgar Degas was one of the founders of the French Impressionism artists movement. He is best known for his artwork The Absinthe Drinker. Many of his paintings include images of ballerinas created in pastel colors.

As a sculptor, his best-known artwork is Little Dancer Aged Fourteen.

French artist Paul Gauguin is best known for his artwork Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going? created in 1903. The artist is associated with the post-impressionism movement. Gauguin moved to Tahiti in 1891 and was inspired by life there.

French artist Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres was a neoclassical painter best known for his portraits and sketches. He focused on Flemish and Italian Renaissance methods. His masterpiece, “The Vow of Louis XIII,” brought him to stardom at the Salon de Paris.

French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec is an artist that is recognized for combining the elements of fine art with advertising, giving birth to the renowned theater posters and other works designed to attract spectators or visitors to nightclubs and other businesses. Lautrec was among the most prominent artists of the Art Nouveau movement. He was a phenomenal painter who created some of the most compelling posters that have now become classic pictures of late 19th- and early 20th-century Europe.

French artist Edouard Manet was one of the first painters in the 19th century to focus on modern subjects. The artist is known for being a realist. His most recognized artwork is Dejeuner Sur L’Herbe, created in 1863. Manet was a pivotal figure in the transition from realism to impressionism.

French artist Henri Matisse was known for his painting, sculpture, collage, and printmaking. The artist is considered one of the most influential figures in modern art. He worked with a variety of media and is best known for his paintings. Matisse was a master of color and a leader of the Fauvism movement. One of his masterpieces is Dance, created in 1910.

French artist Claude Monet is among the most famous French artists of all time. The artist is best known for founding the Impressionist movement. His painting Impressionism, Sunrise is one of the most famous French paintings ever created. He was known as the master of light. Monet could paint the same subject over and over again and yet create a completely different work of art. He is famous for his series of water lilies.

French artist Camille Pissarro was known as the master of painting in oil.

Among his most famous works of art are The Boulevard Montmartre at Night, created in 1897, and

The Hermitage of Pontoise, created in 1867. He enjoyed depicting landscapes.

French artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir was among the most prolific artists of all time and one of the leading creators of impressionism. Renoir is known for his numerous artworks depicting women. He liked to capture evolving Parisian society in addition to his nude and dance subjects. The artist’s best-known painting is Dance at Le Moulin de la Galette, created in 1876. His unique and powerful style made him one of the most celebrated artists of his era.

French artist Auguste Rodin was a renowned sculptor. He focused on realism and sought to express emotions with the interplay of light and shadow and made use of detailed, textured surfaces. He created his masterpiece, The Thinker, in 1902. Rodin is famous as the Father of Modern Sculpture.

French artist Georges Pierre Seurat was a prominent painter during the post-impressionist movement. He invented the painting styles chromoluminarism and pointillism, and he employed conté crayon for rough-surfaced drawings on paper. He is best known for his large-scale masterpiece A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. This artwork introduced neo-impressionism.
