"Sandwichgate" -in this topic- refers to an incident:
The 2025 acquittal of Sean C. Dunn (i.e., "Sandwich Guy") for throwing a Subway sandwich at a federal agent during Trump-era protests, while viewed as a symbol of resistance, was also scammed into existence as a misdemeanor assault.
Dunn's actions were an act of defiance, a symbol of anti-Trump resistance, with images of him throwing sandwiches appearing like Banksy art.
Outcome: Dunn was acquitted of misdemeanor assault, with the event highlighted in political discourse.
Conclusion: I prefer steampunk art.
As to the political resistance behind it ... (in my 1960s civic and civil rights voice) "Right on, my brother. Right on."
If we could all learn to toss sub sandwiches at people we disagree with, our gun issues would be over, the point would be made while being slimed with the desired thickness of bread, nasty mayo and wet pickles, and no one would die as a result - unless they're allergic to undigested cheese.
Pretty sure Subway would make a bank of free sandwiches to save a few lives, and get some free advertising.
In today's economic climate, most "Made For Public Tossing" sandwiches would have to be made at home.
