Be true to thyself

Never under estimate the power of self

By BlessingPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

A young girl named Jessica used to reside in a quiet village tucked away among undulating hills and vivid meadows. She had a spirit that craved for freedom and a heart that was as pure as crystal. Jessica had always been told to live up to society's standards, and she did so—until a momentous day that forever altered her course.

Jessica was renowned for her extraordinary artistic talent. The community praised her for being able to perfectly depict the beauty of nature on canvas. Jessica, however, often felt a desire to travel to to paint outside the lines of traditional painting, she ventured into unexplored regions of her imagination. She yearned to express herself in original ways that were authentic to her individual style.

But Jessica was overcome with uncertainty and dread. She was referred to as weird and rebellious by the peasants, who murmured their displeasure. They warned her against departing from accepted artistic conventions. Jessica thus complied with their expectations in an effort to be accepted and avoid criticism, limiting her authentic creative voice in the process.

Days stretched became weeks, weeks into months, and months into years. Jessica's once-vibrant spirit started to wane, and the magic that previously animated her paintings vanished. She came to the conclusion that by depriving herself of the opportunity to follow her own artistic vision, she had forfeited her individuality and the happiness that went along with it.

Jessica shed a few tears when she sat alone herself in her tiny studio one autumnal evening and stared at a white canvas. She desired to be set free from the chains that had chained her for far too long because the burden of conformity had grown to be too much for her to bear.

Jessica cautiously started to paint as she hesitantly dipped her brush into the beautiful color palette in front of her.paint. She allowed her heart to overflow onto the canvas by letting her imagination lead the way. As she painted, she experienced intense emotions, her tears blending with the paint on her face. She had a sense of emancipation in that instant that she had never known before.

The following morning, a disturbance in the town square alarmed the locals. Around a display of art unlike anything they had ever seen, a throng had gathered. The paintings gave the community a fresh spirit since they were vibrant, airy, and bursting with life.

Jessica stood among the people, a newfound assurance on her face. People were in amazement and couldn't take their eyes off the magnificent works of art in front of them. The strokes and hues joyfully danced.the strokes of the brush told stories untold, and the emotions embedded within the art resonated with each observer.

Jessica's authenticity had unleashed a ripple effect throughout the village. People began to embrace their own unique talents and dreams, inspired by her courage to be true to herself. The once suffocating atmosphere of conformity began to dissolve, replaced by an environment of acceptance, growth, and self-expression.

In the years that followed, Jessica's paintings traveled far and wide, touching the hearts of people from all walks of life. She became a beacon of hope, a reminder to be true to oneself, and an inspiration to those who felt trapped in the cages of societal expectations.

Jessica's story teaches us that we are all born with a spark of uniqueness within us, waiting to be kindled. It reminds us to listen to the whispers of our hearts, even in the face of adversity, for it is in embracing our true selves that we find our greatest strength and create a world more vibrant and alive than we ever imagined possible.
