Sad News for mac lovers, MacBook Air Delayed to Second Half of 2022
As Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently reported, Apple has postponed the release of the updated MacBook

As Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently reported, Apple has postponed the release of the updated MacBook Air until later this year and will most likely not release new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models until 2023.
It seems that Apple had initially intended to release its new MacBook Air in the second half of 2022, rather than the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022 as previously stated by Gurman in his most recent “Power On” newsletter.
Kuo, an Apple expert, predicts that the next MacBook Air’s mass manufacturing would begin in the second or third quarter, implying a September release date.
According to Gurman, the “M2 Pro” and “M2 Max” chipsets are more likely to appear next year for Apple’s high-end 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models rather than this year. This year, Gurman predicted that the only MacBook Pro upgrade will be a 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 processor and a revamped entry-level model.
After the M1 MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and entry-level Mac mini were launched in November 2020, Apple might follow suit by launching a line of new M2 Macs towards the end of 2022, implying that the company’s M-series CPUs have an upgrade cycle of two years. If you’re looking for an M2 chip, the MacBook Air and the 13-inch MacBook Pro are the best bets, although it’s not obvious when these devices will be updated with M2 chips.
