What Really Matters To Me

Introduction

I have not had a creative Vocal Top Story since mid-December, there was one promoted by the wonderful creators in Vocal * Voices in Minor (ViM), but that was from a prompt by them and then shared in a Vocal "Raise Your Voice" otherwise it would not have been a Top Story. The story with the share is here and I am thankful and grateful for it, my second public share on a Vocal thing.

I certainly don't expect anymore and I feel that I will not get another Vocal Top Story but I am fine with that (I have to be if I am staying on Vocal) but here is why.

What Really Matters To Me

While, as far as Vocal is concerned I am the invisible man, as far as my friends and audience are concerned I am anything but. I know my writing improves with everything that I write, and my friends and audience let me know in their comments and with their messages.

When I see them I always try and thank them and reciprocate with reads of their stories, but I love seeing that I am truly loved and appreciated.

I have to be grateful to Vocal for allowing me to publish on their platform, though I do pay them ten dollars a month for the privilege, but most months that is paid for by reads and bonuses. I am lucky enough tp be a little disappointed when I get less than fifty reads a day, I know that is not the norm for most of my creator friends.

Also, I should not have the attitude that I will never have another Vocal Top Story, because they often come out of the blue and I am just one of seven hundred thousand creators, but my last creative Top Story was 190 publications ago, this is it:

So that is why I feel a little disheartened.

But I have to be thankful to Vocal for giving me the audience and friendships that are what really matter to me on the platform. I continually am complimented and that makes me know how good I am.

Conclusion

Today I wasn't sure what to write about, so I put on my Himalayan Salt Lamp which seems to provide me with inspiration and this came out.

I know this piece is not creative (ie poetry or fiction), it is another sort of diary entry but is another insight into my writing, and hopefully today there will be something of interest to you all.
