What It Really Takes to Write a Book

How 10 books are written

By Malaika NawazPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

People often say… “Wow, you’ve written 10 books!”
And yes — it sounds easy when you say it like that.

But the truth?
It’s not just writing.
It’s writing,
then editing,
then reading it again and realizing it’s still not perfect.

It’s formatting pages until your eyes blur.
It’s hunting for the right cover design that feels like your story’s soul.
It’s learning how to publish when there’s no guidebook.
It’s promoting — talking about your book again and again, even when you’re shy.

And it’s those quiet moments of self-doubt…
when you wonder if anyone will even read it.

So yes… I’ve written 10 books.
But behind each one is a hundred late nights, a thousand small decisions,
and a million whispers telling me to keep going.

Because books aren’t just made of words.
They’re made of everything it takes to bring them to life.
