
When Glen Sather was president, coach and general manager of the Edmonton Oilers one thing was more than certain if you played for the team. You were part of the community. No ifs, ands or buts. In the early 1980’s every player became an honorary chair for a charity. Some former Oilers remained with their assigned charity after they left the team. Because they formed a connection with the community. Sather has been long gone from the Oilers.
