The Force Is With You
And follow your fantasies
You are a Badass Deck, by Jen Sincero — It’s time to get mighty clear about what makes you happy and what makes you feel the most alive, and then create it instead of pretending you can’t have it.
The cards in this deck were created from a book You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life.
Living an awesome life is in the eyes of the beholder. To one person it is making a lot of money, having that money in the bank or in investments. Others consider an awesome life just making the bills and having enough to get by.
Still, others are feeling awesome with something to eat and a place to sleep. What makes me happy is family and friends. It is being in recovery. Helping and being helped to live my best life.
Sometimes reading others' writings or hearing from friends about trips they have taken to other countries or when going on fun and exciting trips I think maybe I should do that and it never lasts long. Probably the only place I regret not going to is where family and close friends live now.
It's not like I don't ever go anywhere. I know people that haven't left Minnesota. I was in Mexico in 2016. I have been in North and South Dakota and Wisconsin (neighboring states) since then. And I was in North Carolina with my three children this year.
My favorite spots have been the BWCA (Boundary Waters Canoe Area) and I have been there a number of times in the last 8 years. From 1986 - 99, I was there two to three times a year.
FOLLOW YOUR FANTASIES - What do you fantasize about when you're staring out the window of a train or before you go to sleep at night? Are you onstage doing stand-up comedy in front of thousands of fans? Are you surrounded by your beautiful children in the coziest home ever? Do this exercise as if money were not an issue. Tap into what brings you great joy instead of what you think you need to do to survive. If you had an unlimited supply of cash, what would you spend your life doing? Jen Sincero
It is tough to relate to this at my age. There are things I notice when looking out a window, whether in the car or elsewhere. I notice nature, the colors of the leaves now, and the beauty of the outdoors. Then it's the man sitting next to me, feeling his presence, I look back at him.
In trying to fantasize about being a stand-up comedian I laugh. I don't remember jokes easily if at all. My stand-up is one I heard a small boy telling his father.
Dad: Why did the chicken cross the road? Dad doesn't know and says, "Why did the chicken cross the road?" Small Boy: To show the skunks, porcupines, and raccoons that it can be done! He was so serious and that was probably the funniest part.
Because it was this time of year when I heard it many years ago, makes it funny as this is the time of year when we see dead skunks, porcupines, and raccoons on the road. My daughter raises chickens and when close to the road will run the other way anytime a car approaches them.
Unlimited supply of cash
hahahahaha I have a stash
that will run out soon though
living in this world, we never know
it should last until I'm through here - no?
My kids don't need anything more
then my love all year long and for
all the good memories we have shared
My birthday trip was great and showed they cared!
And reminded me that they don't need my money
they are all doing well and are all my honey
~
Well, okay, with unlimited funds I would take a month and go and visit a good friend in Wisconsin, my brother in Texas, a niece and friend in New Mexico, and a friend in Colorado.
The Force is with you. Jen Sincero
And I believe the force is with me. I am living my best life today. Without the force, I would have been gone a long time ago. There is a definite difference.
It is so hard to tell what is true and what is not. It goes back to the butter or margarine thing for me. You hear one thing and then another. Vegan or Carnivore. Diabetic diet or Food pyramid. It continues this way. Trusting the Force is for me.
