The Courage to Follow Your Calling: Walking Your Path with Confidence
The echoes of the noise that surrounds us often succeed in their endeavor to surmount and overbear the inner compass and our intuition guides us toward it. The tendency of society to guide us towards the conventional way of life is its habitual way of functioning. While the ones who follow the laid guidelines are appraised and extolled and the ones who muster the courage to be unconventional are unfathomable and incapable as they do not work according to the prescribed guidelines of the societal norms. The comfort of comparison is way more elusive than the openness to change and empathy towards the different ways of thinking. The hesitation to accept a new way of living is viewed seldom as the hammered wheelings of time lay their footsteps.
I read a quote that said, “You are not lost, you are just exploring your potential but not tied to a specific outcome” The beauty and the depth of the quote resonates with the very fact that so many of us are reluctant to plunge into a new horizon, to venture into a new territory because we are so scared of being called a failure by the ones that surround us. The concept of working our lives through the shelf life of the timelines that are set for us to blindly follow forges us to be scared and reluctant to take risks, to be bold enough to plonk into the unknown with passion. Whenever you are reprimanded for not following the societal timeline, I hope you remember that your life is not a means of public display subjected to the perspectives and opinions of others. You are worthy and enough just the way you are, and you don't live in comparison to anyone else but you. The beauty of life lies in immersing yourself in the quest to find yourself without focusing on what others are doing or thinking about you.
Comparison if ever done should be drawn to who you were yesterday, if you are doing better than who you were yesterday, then you are winning. But if the answer is no, then work to improve yourself for yourself and no one else. The determination to walk your truth, to find your passion, your genuine and abundant joy, you have to be resilient and unbothered by people's opinions of what your life should look like. Here are certain reminders that will help you believe in your ability to walk your path.
1)You are exactly where you are meant to be - Wherever you stand in life, remember that it is exactly where you need to be. Not ahead of anyone nor behind yourself, your current stance is where you ought to be for the abundance to unfold.
2)Rejection is redirection - The disapproval and dejection that you are facing are leading you towards the path that you are meant to take. Take this in your stride and learn from it.
3)Learn to listen to your intuition- If your body and gut are telling you to rest or go after that opportunity that you are scared about, listen to it. Our inner voice is often diluted by the opinions and beliefs of others, learn to listen to your gut.
4)Believe in yourself - If you do not hold faith and confidence in yourself, no one will. The perspective you hold for yourself is the lens through which the world views you. Make sure that you believe in every fibre of your being to make your dreams come true.
5)Little by little is better than nothing at all - It is far better to make slow and steady progress than to just think and be in a state of stagnancy.
6)Be disciplined and consistent in your endeavours- When you set a goal, work towards it with dedication and consistency. Be true to yourself and evaluate your progress regularly
7)Your dreams are planted in your mind for a reason- I heard this quote that the universe plants the seed of a desire in your soul to make it come true. It is important to work hard, reflect and surrender.
8)If it is out of your hands, it deserves to be released from your mind- Whether you are obsessing over past mistakes or ruminating over future anxieties, know that if you cannot control it, do not spend time overthinking over it.
I hope you find the courage to dive deeper into the passions that make you alive
And you believe in your ability to foster your dreams into your life.
