No, No, Nonet
My Attitude To The Vocal Breakup Nonet Challenge

Introduction
This is just a piece on my attitude to the current Vocal Breakup Nonet Challenge. People may come in thinking it is another Nonet, but they will be doubly disappointed because it's not a poem, and it's written by me (no I know that is a plus).
The music is from the musical "No, No, Nanette" from which I stole my title.
No, No, Nonet
I've said that I won't enter another nonet into the Vocal challenge because I feel that I am being lazy whenever I write a short-form piece, and while I may get a Top Story for my work, there will be so many entries that any of mine will be lost in the deluge.
The thing is though, while I and everyone else is unlikely to win a challenge, the only way to guarantee that you won't win is not to enter. Though it's a bit like my attitude to the Lottery, only one set of numbers wins so I only buy one ticket when I feel like it, but see many people who buy lots of tickets to give them a better chance of winning. I do know they will lose a lot more than me. Vocal Challenges are effectively unlimited and free for Vocal+ members.
The reason I am not doing any more entries is because I am not doing any more nonets for this challenge. I may do more in the future, but there are a lot of short-forms I might do in the future, but more often than not I discard them.
My last few poems have been sonnets and pantoums, which along with villanelles are my preferred poetic forms (although the pantoum is my take on the form as it is not strictly defined, but mine is).
When I was doing the nonets for the Vocal Challenge I made lines rhyme just to give me a little more of a challenge, but that is all on me.
The L*program Challenge to me, is a real challenge, because I have to really work at it, continually checking and hitting a thousand words so not for the faint-hearted
I then started thinking on our profile page wouldn't it be great to have, as well as the filter tabs for communities, and order tab, filter tabs for our Top Stories and Challenge Entries.? We can see our Challenge Entries when we go to the Challenge page and we can see out Top Story titles in our wallets when we get the $5 reward, but it would be great to have them collected. It would also be great if they added the read count to individual stories and their stats have not worked properly for two years so I do not know how many reads many of my stories get.
Conclusion
Thank you so much for reading and sorry if I sound whiney or judgemental here, but the only ones who cause my annoyance are Vocal, AI and Plagiarists(though I used AI for the main image).

I like your approach, Mike! Sometimes I'm hesitant on select challenges, but you're right in that the only way you don't have a shot at winning is if you don't enter them. I think that's a great attitude to have towards the challenges (and life.) 💕 Thank you for writing this, Mike!!
Honestly it's important to write how you want. I think the only reason why I was runner up in a challenge was I was writing about pain in what was meant to be a pride themed challenge. Thankfully it was a guest judge and not Vocal
I always enjoy reading your thoughts, Mike! Thank you so much for sharing. Personally, the Nonets are super challenging for me because they force me to express complex ideas in a tapering set of syllables. :)
I like the nonets, and you should write as many as you want. Because they're short doesn't mean you're being lazy. I like the challenge of being able to paint a scene or tell a story in just a few words. Or maybe I'm just lazy. Lol. Good luck in the challenge and the lippy one too.
You are amazing, how you find a song that is so appropriate. Make a poem of my own . Love that starting line if your sing poem🥰It was so romantic .Most sites are run by AI , I understand why read is not up to par. Home page need some improvement for sure. I knew it was not going to be a poem. I still find amazing you find a song, it very harmonious
You never have to apologise Mike, you're merely just getting things off your chest. The Lipogram challenge seems too stressful for me. The Nonet one has me intrigued but Mr Brain has got nothing yet, lol. Also yes, I like the idea of being able to group our challenge wins and Top Stories on our profile. Oh also the read count on individual stories. It might come soon though. Because they first had the heart counts. Then the comments counts. It's only natural for read counts to be next hehehe
