Thank you so much for the brilliant response to this unofficial challenge prompt fellow Vocalites!! I didn’t expect so many responses and was so pleasantly surprised by all my notifications, so thank you all! ❤️

[For anyone who missed it, it’s here 👇🏻]

There were lots of great entries - please do check them out and leave some love and support for your brothers and sisters if you haven’t already!

Below I have chosen my top three favourites, which are in no particular order. I feel that they are all of equal brilliance - only differing in tone and content.

I chose the poems that I most strongly resonated with / reacted to after reading them. These are the three which left me something extra after reading…

And each one left an entirely different imprint!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Cathy’s poem is powerful, hard hitting reminder that our ego’s all benefit to hear every so often! In a world so divided, we all need to be reminded of what’s truly important….

A brilliant entry, Cathy. Thank you 🤍🌟

RM Stockton had me hooked from the fourth line! With a sea of rather melancholy poems (which of course includes my own) this was such a refreshing and unique on the prompt.

Each stanza lifted my heart more and more as I began to remember the love waiting for me in my future! I hope it does the same for you, or reminds you to appreciate the love you have.

This poem is a firm favourite and I’m really grateful for such an entry to this challenge. Thank you! 🙏🏻

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Randy’s entry is the shortest of these three but arguably gave me so much more than the others in terms of afterthought!

My philosophical mind adores the concept that he proposes in this perfectly rhymed and metered poem.

Well done Randy and thank you for sharing this one 🤍🙏🏻🌟

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

All other entries are here 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

Let me know in the comments which is your favourite!

(As I was copying and pasting these links, I realise there really are so many other poems I loved too… and on a different day would have made my top three! F Cade, Kelli, Paul, Mike, Rachel… you all deserve a shout out too 🤍🌟)

It’s also quite the challenge for me to copy and paste the entries using only my phone… if I have somehow missed yours from the list, know that it is accidental and please tell me in the comments!

- UPDATE -

Two missed from the list (the author’s forgot to post them to me!). And in a way, it’s good I didn’t see them before now because it would have made this more challenging!!

Looking for something new to read?

Do check out my newly published book - it’s my true account of that covid summer. One that is definitely not your average lockdown story 😅

I have some rather active haters who left a negative review as soon as I published (it’s incredible that anyone would choose to envy me in my situation - but life never fails to surprise!!), so genuine reviews are sought and appreciated beyond measure!!

  • Thanks Kayleigh… lots of enjoyable reads.

  • I just wrote mine for your prompt yesterday. It's just a rough first draft and still needs a lot of work but I'm currently working on my story for the Overboard challenge. So it might only be next month that I publish the poem hehehe
